Emma is a reader of sentimental novels; she is young, therefore, idealistic, dreamy; passionate about that parallel world she imagines in her readings. As a reader, I imagine her immersed in her illusions, sighing for a happy, romantic love, capable of doing for her whatever makes her heart happy. I imagine her in sweet expectation of her lover, meeting inordinately at meetings, seeing each other in secret, receiving gifts, overcoming the drama of the abysses; fulfilling, then, the desire to overcome distances.

My first impression was: "This book is much to young for me." Yes, I understand that Young Adult novels are marketed towards teenagers. Still, I find it hard to believe that a 16 year old could be a seasoned assassin or that a 17 year old could be the leader of a neighborhood gang and, in his free time, plan a near-impossible heist. Within a few chapters my complaints were completely forgotten and I was totally engaged in this fun & heart felt story. let me tell you more!!

Although my device (a Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet X1 G1) is excellent, its 12” screen and 2k resolution do not make it comfortable or manageable to emulate traditional reading. It's a hybrid between a laptop and a tablet with a detachable magnetic keyboard, designed to cater to the niche of managers and corporate executives.

A book reading lull is a strange phenomenon. One that's even stranger than a writers block. At least in the writers block, you know it's a blocking of your creative streams/rays/ink (whatever y'all authors imagine your creative flow to be). Regardless you know this is why the words aren't flowing to you like before.

I'll like to believe I'm completely out of my book slump or I'm halfway there, considering I've been able to read three books throughout this month. Although it currently feels like pulling myself out of this book slump wasn't completely necessary as I have exams fast approaching and soon, I'll have to dedicate 95% of my time to reading academic books. But for now, we keep going with the flow, till our academic demands it.

Hello, community! In the world of literature, especially in children's and young adult literature, illustrators play a crucial role. Images complement the text, bring stories to life, and allow readers to visualize scenarios, characters, and emotions, enriching the literary experience. Illustrations provide cultural context, attract and maintain readers' attention, and facilitate comprehension, giving the work a special flavor.

Have you ever read a book that puts you in a tight spot - a dilemma where you're unsure whether the character did something bad or if what the character did was "poetic justice enough"? According to the dictionary, “Poetic justice, also called poetic irony, is a literary device with which ultimately virtue is rewarded and misdeeds are punished.” In simple words, Poetic Justice is when evil characters are punished for their misdeeds or atrocities, while the good ones are rewarded. I have read many books where I am left in a dilemma if the character got enough “poetic justice”? I ask myself questions like; Should the character suffer more for his misdeeds? Did they deserve a quick and slow death instead of a fast and painless one? Recently, I read The Red Velvet Dress by Farida Karodia
What is Hive Book Club?
Hive Book Club is a community made by book lovers, for book lovers. A place where the chaotic minds of writers may punch away words from their keyboards as they share their writing adventures. Where passionate book collectors may rummage through their stacks of books to share and review their latest additions. Outside of our regular curation process, we may create contests for our community to participate in, and earn even more from their posts. If you have a certain theme for a future contest you would like to see, let us know! Be sure to check with us frequently on our various social media platforms to avoid missing out!
How Do We Choose The Highlighted Posts?
For those of you curious as to how you may have been chosen or would like to be chosen in the future in one of these compilations: we scan through the community and read the many posts that the community members write. We then select four or five posts that we believe meet certain criteria and are worthy of sharing with the rest of the community. We aim to keep these selections diverse in style, from writing skills or subject matter.
Hence, throughout the week, the moderators will check the community and manually handpick the posts. Some factors include the post subject, post quality, engagement, personal voice, and general effort. If we choose you, or you happen to stumble across these highlights, please do check out the other posts we feature, and contribute to their curation and engagement!

Love isn't really my strong suit, but I'm pretty sure I've read many books exploring this theme. Right now, I'm drawing a blank, but somewhere in my head, there are many books. I just need to sit down, think carefully, and see what comes to mind. Let's see how it goes.
Thank you, Hive Book Club.
There are plenty book that could fit the theme and we're so looking forward of your entry to this weekly prompt 😊
Phew! I finally came up with something. Haha.
Here’s my entry, @hivebookclub

Looks like you're the only one 😄
Haha. I actually enjoyed writing that one.
Maybe we could work together to make sure the next prompt reaches different places?
For now it's OK to be that way, perhaps I'll open some more application next month.
Alright.
Well done.🥰
Hi, @hivebookclub
First, a warm greeting and all the best to you during the month of love and friendship.
I am thrilled to see one of my reviews here among the highlights. Congratulations to all of you who have been featured on this occasion: you have well deserved it.
I think the idea of celebrating love through a contest to encourage engagement within the community is great. If you are encouraged, we will definitely enjoy great references that are worth reading.
As for the first question, I can think of a great novel by Gabriel García Márquez: Love in the Time of Cholera. Unfortunately, I have not read it yet, but it is said to deal very well with the aspects of love over time. Nevertheless, here is an excellent work, which although it does not fully answer the first question, it does leave you with an open path to reflect on it. Besides, love is as elusive as the truth.

Greetings.
Thank you so much for always contributing in our community. We do appreciate it & is that your entry for this week's contest? if so, we're going to count it and by this week ends, best of luck!
My entry? I guess so. I hope more will join. However, for now, I don't see many, and that makes me a little sad. Maybe a little more promotion is needed. I think the #hivebookclub 4th-anniversary post will give it a significant boost. We'll see!
Greetings.
I want to join this initiative 🤩🤩
Please do so & don't forget to also drop the link over here so we can log it for you.
