As mentioned in my previous blog, I had my mandatory leave of absence this whole week and tried to explore the local places in our city. Today's feature is the Cebu City Public Library, located in Capitol Site, Cebu City.
I was a frequent visitor here back when I was still in college to study. They're open from 8 am to 5 pm on week days, excluding holidays. The best part is that it has free admission for everyone. Visitors just need to register they're names in the log book.
Back in the day, I only visit here to study. I never had the chance to brows through their book collections. Now, I'm visiting the library to do just that. I remember they had novels and fiction books you can borrow and bring home for a few days. Unfortunately, I don't see novels in this library anymore.
So far, I'm loving their self help and development section which has many books from famous authors such as Echkhart Tolle, Chicken Soup collection, Benjamin Graham, and among others. I pick the book The Millionaire Mind for today's read.
They also have a freedom wall for visitors to write anything and everything under the sun, a children's corner, and a computer section for students to do their assignments.
Above the public library is a museum. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to visit due to time constraint. This will be for my next adventure, then.
To say that I love the public library is an understatement. If only I could visit this place every day, I would. So I'm making a promise to myself that whenever i decide to file for a leave of absence on a weekday, I would make sure to visit this place.
Out of all the things the local government has done, including the controversies, this must be one, if not their best project. I hope the government will support and fund this place even more in the future.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
The idea of having a freedom wall is great; it is a space where the community can express itself. I hope that next time you can visit the museum too, it must be interesting. Without a doubt, a place like this deserves all the support of the government. Thank you for sharing your experience!
I Love strolling through Libraries!
