Hello everyone, dear Hive community, I hope you are all doing great today, I am a little sick but I am recovering... on this occasion I want to share with you all a review, this time I will give you my opinions of the novel: Forever, Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid... and well, I will start giving my opinions by saying that this book touched my heart directly, like few have done... it is one of those stories that make you laugh and cry at the same time... it is difficult to describe, I had not even gotten halfway through when I realized that I was completely hooked on the whole story... it was one of those books that I devoured very quickly. In this novel we will see the journey of Elsie, a character that is very relatable.. her quirks, her vulnerability, her joy and her pain feel so real, honestly, it is hard not to connect with her and end up loving her, you begin to understand everything that she is going through.. you are transported into her life, she is someone that you could imagine as your best friend, you will hear her tell you how she is navigating between the ups and downs of falling in love.. and we will see her face the devastation of losing everything in the blink of an eye it is very painful..
The structure of the story seems brilliant to me, it alternates between the present, where Elsie is dealing with the sudden loss of her husband, and the past, where we can see how their interesting relationship developed.. this narrative of comings and goings seems to me an incredible success, because it allows you as a reader to fall in love with their relationship while feeling the gigantic weight of their grief. It's like you're experiencing love and loss at the same time, along with her, it's a curious thing but one that I highly recommend experiencing... the way the author captures this entire emotional roller coaster of the protagonist... the bliss of love, how beautiful it can be, and how it directly relates to the abyss of all the pain, it's heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time... so I recommend having tissues by your side.
Hola a todos, querida comunidad de Hive, espero que estén súper bien hoy, yo estoy algo enfermo, pero me estoy recuperando .. en esta ocasión quiero compartir con todos ustedes una reseña, esta vez les daré mis opiniones de la novela: Forever, Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid.. y bueno, comenzaré a dar mis opiniones diciendo que este libro me llegó directamente al corazón, como pocos lo han hecho.. es de esas historias que te hacen reír y llorar al mismo tiempo... es complicado de describir, ni siquiera había llegado a la mitad cuando me di cuenta de que estaba completamente enganchado con toda la historia.. fue uno de esos libros que devoré muy rápidamente. En esta novela veremos el viaje de Elsie, un personaje que es muy fácil de relacionar.. sus peculiaridades, su vulnerabilidad, su alegría y su dolor se sienten tan reales, honestamente, es difícil no conectar con ella y acabar encariñándote, empiezas a comprender todo por lo que esta pasando.. te transportas a su vida, es alguien que podrías imaginar cómo tu mejor amiga, la oirás contarte como se encuentra navegando entre los altibajos de enamorarse.. y la veremos enfrentarse a la devastación de perderlo todo en un abrir y cerrar de ojos es muy doloroso..
La estructura de la historia me parece brillante, alterna entre el presente, donde Elsie está lidiando con la pérdida repentina de su esposo, y el pasado, donde podemos ver cómo se desarrolló su interesante relación.. esta narrativa de idas y vueltas me parece un acierto increíble, porque te permite a ti como lector enamorarte de su relación mientras sientes el peso gigantesco de su duelo. Es como si estuvieras experimentando el amor y la pérdida al mismo tiempo, junto con ella, es algo curioso pero que recomiendo mucho experimentar.. la forma en que la autora captura toda esta montaña de rusa emocional de la protagonista.. de la dicha del amor, lo hermoso que puede ser, y cómo se relaciona directamente con el abismo de todo el dolor, es desgarrador y hermoso a la vez.. asi que les recomiendo tener pañuelos a su lado.
The writing style is one of the main reasons why this book works so well.. the prose is simple but incredibly sentimental and evocative, it doesn't complicate things, which makes the story flow effortlessly.. it's like she's sitting in front of you telling you Elsie's story with a coffee in her hand, and yet there are moments so profound that they stay with you for a long time. A line about love being like a sopernova really struck me...this kind of metaphor makes you stop and reflect on your own life...it's something profound that surely many people can relate to something like this, specifically those who sadly had to see a loved one leave or who had to witness a really painful breakup on their own.
Now, talking a bit about the themes that this novel brings to the table, let's say it's a love story, but it goes way beyond that... it's a deep exploration of what it means to lose someone, self-discovery and healing, the book doesn't avoid the difficult topics: anger, confusion, the awkwardness of dealing with people who don't know what to say.. and it's not just about losing a loved one and that's it, it's also about the loss of a relationship, this kind of pain that is universal in one way or another, there's a lot to reflect on here... whether you're dealing with a breakup or the loss of someone you love, you can relate in many ways.
Among other aspects I liked was the dynamic between Elsie and Susan, Ben's mother... their relationship starts off strained, but watching them navigate their grief together, finding common ground and eventually a sense of mutual understanding, was incredibly moving, it's nice to think that even in the darkest of times, human connections can go a long way in helping you cope with all that we can't alone. It's interesting how grief can bring people together who might not otherwise get along at all.. that's interesting to me.
El estilo de escritura es una de las razones principales por las cual este libro funciona tan bien.. la prosa es sencilla pero increíblemente sentimental y evocadora, no complica las cosas, lo que hace que la historia fluya sin esfuerzo.. es como si estuviera sentada frente a ti contándote la historia de Elsie con un café en la mano, y aun así, hay momentos tan profundos que se quedan contigo por mucho tiempo. Una línea sobre el amor siendo como una sopernova realmente me impactó.. este tipo de metáfora te hace detenerte y reflexionar sobre tu propia vida.. es algo profundo que seguramente muchas personas podrán identificarse con algo así, específicamente aquellas que lastimosamente tuvieron que ver a un ser querido partir o que tuvieron que presenciar por sus propios medios una ruptura realmente dolorosa.
Ahora, hablando un poco de los temas que trae a la mesa esta novela, digamos que es una historia de amor, pero va mucho más allá de eso.. es una exploración profunda de lo que significa perder a alguien, el autodescubrimiento y la sanación, el libro no evita los temas difíciles: la ira, la confusión, la incomodidad de lidiar con personas que no saben qué decir.. y no se trata solo de perder a un ser querido y ya, sino que también trata sobre la pérdida de una relación, este tipo de dolor que es universal de una forma u otra, hay mucho que reflexionar aquí.. ya sea que estés enfrentando una ruptura o la pérdida de alguien querido, puedes sentirte identificado de muchas maneras.
Entre otros aspectos que me gustaron fue la dinámica entre Elsie y Susan, la madre de Ben.. su relación comienza de manera tensa, pero ver cómo navegan juntas por su duelo, encontrando puntos en común y eventualmente un sentido de comprensión mutuo, fue increíblemente conmovedor, es lindo pensar que incluso en los momentos más oscuros, las conexiones humanas pueden ser muy importantes para ayudarte a sobrellevar todo lo que no podemos solos. Es interesante cómo el duelo puede unir a personas que de otra manera no se llevarían del todo bien.. eso me parece interesante.
While it was an enjoyable read, if I get a little analytical, I have to say that I don't find it perfect.. unfortunately it does lean on some clichés, especially in the realm of romance, the whole concept of love at first sight can feel a little idealized and pulled out of the bag for some readers.. and while the emotional depth is admirable, there were times when it felt like the story was trying too hard to make you cry. It's not something that totally ruins the experience, but it's something to keep in mind if you're not a fan of overly sentimental stories, or don't like a premise to actively focus on provoking something in you.. so, do I recommend it?
Well, let's just say yes... if you like stories that tackle love and loss with raw honesty, it might be right up your alley. Those who enjoy emotional reads that balance heartbreak with hope will probably have a good time.. and especially if you've ever lost someone or gone through a difficult breakup, you might find some comfort or even some stretches of wisdom in his journey, perfect for trying to gain a little. For me, I give it a solid 4/5 stars... it's not without flaws, but I must admit that the emotional impact and authenticity of Elsie's character make it a good and outstanding read.. it's interesting this author's ability to make you feel every emotion the characters go through, and that's no small thing.. and well, that would be all my review. Aunque fue una lectura que disfruté, si me pongo un poco analítico, debo decir que no me parece perfecto.. lastimosamente se apoya en algunos clichés, especialmente en el ámbito del romance, todo el concepto de amor a primera vista puede sentirse un poco idealizado y sacado de la manga para algunos lectores.. y aunque la profundidad emocional es admirable, hubo momentos en los que parecía que la historia intentaba demasiado hacerte llorar. No es algo que arruine totalmente la experiencia, pero sí es algo a tener en cuenta si no eres fanático de las historias excesivamente sentimentales, o no te gusta que una premisa se enfoque activamente en provocarte algo.. entonces, ¿lo recomiendo?
Pues digamos que sí.. si te gustan las historias que abordan el amor y la pérdida con una honestidad cruda, podría ser ideal para ti. Aquellas personas que disfrutan de lecturas emotivas que equilibran el corazón roto con la esperanza probablemente tengan un buen momento.. y sobre todo, si alguna vez has perdido a alguien o pasado por una ruptura difícil, podrías encontrar algo de consuelo o incluso algunos tramos de sabiduría en el viaje de él, perfecto para intentar ganar un poco. Para mí, le doy un sólido 4/5 estrellas.. no está exento de fallas, pero debo admitir que el impacto emocional y la autenticidad del personaje de Elsie lo convierten en una lectura buena y destacada.. es interesante la habilidad de esta autora para hacerte sentir cada emoción que atraviesan los personajes, y eso no es poca cosa.. y bueno, esta sería toda mi reseña.
