Hello Hello Community! ✨, in the midst of all the turmoil that is lately my head thanks to the internships and in general to everything that has to do with the university, it has become a necessity for me to look for ways to clear my mind of all this chaos, and I have found that escape route in books (as it really has been since I was a teenager), so taking advantage of all the boom that has this saga in Tik Tok and also that my good friend Kerlys bought the books, I decided to give a chance to this romantic fantasy, and that's why today we will talk about Fourth Wing
🐲 SYNOPSIS 🗡️
Violet Sorrengail believed all her life that she would be part of the Scribe Quadrant, that she would be an outstanding student and when the time came, she would occupy an important position within that quadrant, just for that she had been trained during her childhood and adolescence, however all this changed when her mother, the General Lilith Sorrengail, forces her to join the most dangerous, reckless and elitist quadrant of the entire Basgiath War College, the Dragon Riders Quadrant. Here Violet must not only survive all the physically demanding and combat tests inherent to her training as a rider, but when the time comes she must be able to bond with a dragon without being annihilated in the process, and as if that weren't enough, take on all the enemies who have sworn vengeance on her mother, Xaden Riorson being the most ruthless of them.
🐲 WAR, DRAGONS AND A DANGEROUS ROMANCE 🗡️
Does this book deserve all the hype it has generated? Well, the truth is that yes, personally I feel that it has a good writing and also has an element that I like a lot, and is not heavy to read, I do not know if it happens (maybe it's just me) that there are stories of the fantasy genre that at the time of reading feel very heavy and not very digestible, and that even if they explain the world that has been created, you do not end up understanding it at all, or on the other side of the coin we have stories that seek to give too many details of the universe you are reading in the first 20 pages and therefore end up saturating you with information too quickly, in this particular book I felt a balance between descriptions, dialogues, action and romance, with which the author managed to introduce me completely in the events that were being narrated.
The book is narrated from Violet's perspective, so we only have her point of view of the events, and you know that I like it better when the narration of the male protagonist is also added, not only because we get to know him better and we are not simply left with the vision that the female protagonist has of him, but also because more history is covered when it is done with two narrations, even in the fantasy genre it is sometimes interesting when you have a third person narrator. In this case, I think it would have been a plus to the story if the author had added Xaden's narration, although I also understand that this could generate spoilers about the end of the book, which although it was something I saw coming, I didn't expect it to be specifically about that character.
I really liked how from the beginning the author lets you see that in this story you shouldn't get attached to any character, that she did it by killing a character in the first few chapters is a bit extreme, but she makes the message pretty clear: anyone can die, although even this didn't prepare me for the death of that particular character 😭. Every challenge that Violet and the freshmen faced, I felt like it was very carefully designed and thought out, and that's something I appreciate in these types of stories, when the author actually takes the time to design every element that's going to add to the plot, because it's very annoying when you notice that something is there just to be there and make filler.
Now, Violet and Xaden as protagonists seem to me an absolute jewel, Xaden is the physical and strategic strength of the relationship, but Violet is undoubtedly the bravery and intelligence made person, it is true that I feel that there is a greater evolution in the character of Violet compared to Xaden, and it is also a very well achieved evolution throughout the book, I also believe that we would see a greater growth in him if we had his narration, however both seem to me exceptional protagonists. However, is either of them my favorite character, of course not, because that place is occupied by a mythological being that unfortunately does not exist, that is a dragon, of which I will not give more description because it would be spoiler and he deserves all the mystery that can be given to him, even those who have already read the book I'm sure you know who I mean 🖤.

¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, en medio de todo el revoltijo que es últimamente mi cabeza gracias a las pasantías y en general a todo lo que tenga que ver con la universidad, se ha convertido para mí en una necesidad el buscar formas de despejar mi mente de todo este caos, y he encontrado esa vía de escape en los libros (como realmente ha sido desde que era adolescente), así que aprovechando todo el auge que tiene esta saga en Tik Tok y que además mi buena amiga Kerlys compro los libros, decidí darle una oportunidad a esta fantasía romántica, y es por eso que hoy hablaremos sobre Alas de Sangre.
🐲 SINOPSIS 🗡️
Violet Sorrengail creyó toda su vida que formaría parte del Cuadrante de Escribas, que seria una estudiante destacada y cuando llegara el momento, ocuparía un puesto importante dentro de dicho cuadrante, justo para eso se había formado durante su infancia y adolescencia, sin embargo todo esto cambió cuando su madre, la General Lilith Sorrengail, la obliga a unirse al cuadrante más peligroso, temerario y elitista de todo el Colegio de Guerra de Basgiath, el Cuadrante de Jinetes de Dragón. Aquí Violet no solo debe sobrevivir a todas las pruebas de exigencia física y de combate propias de su formación como jinete, sino que cuando llegue el momento deberá ser capaz de vincularse a un dragón sin ser aniquilada en el proceso, y como si fuera poco, cargar con todos los enemigos que han jurado vengarse de su madre, siendo Xaden Riorson el más despiadado de ellos.
🐲 GUERRA, DRAGONES Y UN ROMANCE PELIGROSO 🗡️
¿Merece este libro todo el auge que ha generado? pues la verdad es que si, personalmente siento que tiene una buena escritura y que además tiene un elemento que a mi me gusta bastante, y es no ser pesado de leer, no se si les pasa (capaz es solo algo mío) que hay historias del género de la fantasía que al momento de leer se sienten muy pesadas y poco digeribles, y que por mas que te expliquen el mundo que se ha creado, no terminas de entenderlo del todo, o en el otro lado de la moneda tenemos historias que buscan dar demasiados detalles del universo que estás leyendo en las primeras 20 páginas y que por ende terminan saturándote de información demasiado rápido, en este libro en particular yo sentí un equilibrio entre descripciones, diálogos, acción y romance, con lo cual la autora logró introducirme por completo en los hechos que se estaban narrando.
El libro está narrado desde la perspectiva de Violet, por lo que solamente tenemos su punto de vista de los hechos, y ya saben que a mi me gusta más cuando se añade también la narración del protagonista masculino, no solo porque llegamos a conocerlo mejor y no simplemente nos quedamos con la visión que la protagonista femenina tenga de él, sino que además se abarca más historia cuando se hace con dos narraciones, incluso en el género de la fantasía a veces resulta interesante cuando se cuenta con un narrador en tercera persona. En este caso, considero que habría sido un plus a la historia, si la autora hubiese añadido la narración de Xaden, aunque también entiendo que eso podía generar spoilers sobre el final del libro, el cual si bien sí fue algo que vi venir, no me esperé que se tratara específicamente de ese personaje.
Me gusto mucho como desde el inicio la autora te deja ver que en esta historia no debes encariñarte con ningún personaje, que lo haya hecho matando a un personaje en los primeros capítulos es algo extremo, pero te deja el mensaje bastante claro: cualquiera puede morir, aunque ni siquiera esto me preparo para la muerte de ese personaje en particular 😭. Cada reto al que Violet y los estudiantes de primer año se enfrentaban, me parecía que estaba diseñado y pensado con mucho detenimiento, y eso es algo que agradezco en este tipo de historias, cuando el autor realmente se toma el tiempo de diseñar cada elemento que va a añadir a la trama, porque es muy molesto cuando notas que algo está allí simplemente por estar y hacer relleno.
Ahora bien, Violet y Xaden como protagonistas me parecen una joya absoluta, Xaden es la fortaleza física y estratégica de la relación, pero Violet es sin duda la valentía e inteligencia hecha persona, sí es verdad que yo siento que hay una mayor evolución en el personaje de Violet en comparación a Xaden, y que además es una evolución muy bien lograda a lo largo del libro, también considero que se vería un mayor crecimiento en él si tuviésemos su narración, sin embargo ambos me parecen protagonistas excepcionales. No obstante, ¿es alguno de ellos dos mi personaje favorito?, por supuesto que no, porque ese lugar lo ocupa un ser mitológico que desafortunadamente no existe, es decir un dragón, de cual no daré mayor descripción porque sería spoiler y él se merece todo el misterio que se le pueda dar, igual quienes ya leyeron el libro estoy segura que saben a quien me refiero 🖤.

PD: creo que lo un único similar a divergente es el tema de la facciones. En 4W están los jinetes de dragones, escribas, infantería, etc y en divergente estaban abnegación, osadía, verdad, y así. Yo solo llegué a leer el primer libro y no continúe porque no me encantaron los personajes.
