Good day Hive Book friends, I hope you are feeling great, for my part, on this rainy day in the city, I have finished the last book I acquired, and I want to tell you a little of what it's about. Although it's hard for me to review without saying anything crucial about the stories I read, I'm trying and I think I can do better. The first thing I would like to tell you is that the habit of reading is one of my favorites and whenever I have the financial possibility, I choose to buy myself some book. I also read in my ebook, but the physical book has a different appeal. On this occasion the book was recommended to me by a friend and then, another one told me that he admires the writer. It must be that reading brings us together even when our lives revolve differently.

Buen día amigos de Hive Book, espero que se encuentren genial, por mi parte, en este día lluvioso en la ciudad, he terminado el último libro que adquirí, y les quiero contar un poco de qué va. Aunque es difícil para mí hacer una reseña sin decir nada crucial de las historias que leo, lo intento y creo que puedo mejorar. Lo primero que quisiera contarles es que el hábito de lectura es uno de mis preferidos y siempre que tengo la posibilidad económica, elijo comprarme algún libro. También leo en mi ebook, pero el libro físico tiene un atractivo distinto. En esta ocasión el libro me fue recomendado por un amigo y luego, otro me dijo que admira al escritor. Debe ser que la lectura nos une aún cuando nuestras vidas giren de manera distinta.
Let's talk a little bit about the writer, whom I didn't know at all, although later I understood how all my acquaintances got to know him. His name is Marcos Aramburu, he is 30 years old and grew up in the neighborhood next to mine, besides being a producer, he is a writer, scriptwriter, social communicator, and I understand that he has dedicated himself to study and learn about drugs to write this book, and that he is also linked to radio programs and politics. He confesses to love Maradona, and to have a problem with sugar, it is very funny that there is a certain mythic about him, and I met him once I could open the book haha.

Hablemos un poco del escritor, a quien yo no conocía de nada, aunque luego entendí cómo llegaron todos mis conocidos a él. Se llama Marcos Aramburu, tiene 30 años y se crió en el barrio al lado del mío, además de productor, es escritor, guionista, comunicador social, y entiendo que se ha dedicado a estudiar y aprender sobre drogas para escribir este libro, y que además, está ligado a programas radiales y política. Let's move on to the subject matter, although I have already mentioned it. They are chronicles about people and their consumption, sometimes problematic and sometimes not. There are four chronicles, each one deserves a chapter, and I leave you the details so you can research about it if you are interested, but what I admire in the moment I become a reader who navigates in her mind with the words that guide me from someone else, and I read as if it were a long letter from a friend. A very porteño writing, that mixture of poetry and mud, of letting glimpse spectacular things, in simple lines. A simple way we have of making the drastic, more striking.

Pasamos a la temática, aunque ya lo adelanté. Se tratan de crónicas sobre personas y su consumo, a veces problemático y a veces no. Son cuatro crónicas, cada una merece un capítulo, y te dejo los detalles para que puedas investigar sobre ello si te interesa, pero lo que me admira en el momento en que me convierto en una lectora que navega en su mente con las palabras que me guían de alguien más, y leo como si fuese la extensa carta de un amigo. Una escritura bien porteña, esa mezcla de poesía y barro, de dejar entrever cosas espectaculares, en líneas sencillas. Una manera simple que tenemos de hacer lo drástico, más llamativo.

It is interesting how each chapter welcomes us as if the table was already set and we have to discover what it is about. As if the story were interrupted, or started to be told from an arbitrary point. A meeting in a café, a meeting in a workplace, etc. The narrative is smooth, as I said. It moves very quickly through its pages. The beginnings of each chapter are printed as if they were design or silkscreen images, reminding me a bit of the classic printing presses.

Es interesante cómo cada capítulo nos recibe como si la mesa ya estuviera puesta y tenemos que ir descubriendo de qué se trata. Como si la historia fuese interrumpida, o comenzada a contar desde un punto arbitrario. Una reunión en un café, una reunión concretada en un lugar de trabajo, etc. La narrativa es suave, como ya dije. Se avanza muy velozmente por sus páginas. Los comienzos de cada capítulo traen impresas como si fuesen imágenes de diseño o serigrafía, me rememoran un poco a las imprentas clásicas.

I also emphasize that at the end there is a small drawing, a sketch of something that brings together certain characteristics of the chapter, and if I strongly recommend this reading it will be for several people in particular. For example, we do not only talk about young people, or dissidence, there are interviews to a person, for example, who is an older man, who tells about his youth, his militancy, his family, his friends. In other words, the book takes you on a journey (and gives you a ride). It opens your eyes and explains certain topics (for example, prisons, drugs, or some codes) and also about prostitution, illegal consumption and wealthy people.

También destaco que al final traen un pequeño dibujo, esbozo de algo que reúne ciertas características del capítulo, y si me pongo fuertemente a recomendar esta lectura será para varias personas en particular. Por ejemplo, no solo hablamos de jóvenes, o disidencias, hay entrevistas a una persona, por ejemplo, que es un hombre mayor, que cuenta su época jóven, la militancia, la familia, sus amigos. Es decir, el libro te lleva de viaje (y te da un paseo) Te abre los ojos y explica ciertas temáticas (por ejemplo, las cárceles, sus drogas, o algunos códigos) y también sobre prostitución, consumos ilegales y personas adineradas.

It's pretty cool to be able to tie up loose ends as you turn the pages. Not that it's a detective book or anything like that, it's just lovely that as you go along you discover that the smallest detail at the beginning of the chapter starts to make sense later on. I share with you among the images, this page that definitely left me thinking a lot about “how to explain what happens when you take drugs, and compares it to explaining a dream. There are so many images happening and you remember and can only string together two or three things, the main ones, the ones that were significant.

Es bastante genial poder ir atando cabos mientras pasas las páginas. No es que sea un libro policial ni similar, solo que es encantador que mientras avanzas descubres que ese detalle mínimo al principio del capítulo empieza a tomar sentido luego. Les comparto entre las imágenes, esta página que definitivamente me dejó pensando mucho sobre “cómo explicar lo que sucede cuando tomas drogas, y lo compara con explicar un sueño. Son muchas imágenes sucediendo y uno recuerda y puede hilar solo dos o tres cosas, las principales, las que fueron significativas.
It is interesting to see how everything is presented and told in this perspective, not to mention the chronicles themselves, I got attached to some of the interviewees, I was interested in their personal history, besides the use and their history with drugs. It is a book that crosses from society to what happens in our body when we choose to consume any of these. For that very reason, one afternoon in the park, I very happily did so with a marijuana cigarette, as the concentration and excitement during the reading became more nourishing, for me. And it also provided me with a photograph that I really enjoyed.

Es interesante ver cómo está planteado y contado todo en esta perspectiva, ni hablar de las crónicas en sí mismas, me encariñe con algunos de los entrevistados, me interesó su historia personal, además del uso y su historia con drogas. Es un libro que atraviesa desde la sociedad hasta lo que sucede en nuestro cuerpo cuando elegimos consumir alguna de estas. Por eso mismo, una tarde en el parque, muy felizmente lo hice con un cigarro de marihuana, ya que la concentración y la emoción durante la lectura se volvieron más nutritivas, para mi. Y también me brindó una fotografía que me gustó mucho.
As a conclusion, I am totally surprised: first for the very rewarding reading, second for having discovered Marcos Aramburu through his book and not with his career in the media, and third, for having remembered this recommendation and when I had the money I went for it. Como conclusión, estoy totalmente sorprendida: primero por la lectura tan gratificante, segundo por haber descubierto a Marcos Aramburu a través de su libro y no con su carrera en los medios, y tercero, por haber recordado esta recomendación y cuando tuve el dinero fui a por él.
