For a couple of weeks now I've been sharing with you some reviews of the books in the Shatter Me saga by author Tahereh Mafi. This is an 11-pound saga in total. I'm counting the short stories as well and a saga that truth be told, I thought was going to grab me a little bit more, but I have to say in a nutshell that I've been liking it a little bit. Last week I brought you the review of the book that, in theory, is number two, but according to the list, it is number three. And this time it's my turn to read what is theoretically 2.5, for me book number four to keep an order. And this is a short story that we have to read in order to understand the events that Juliette cannot narrate to us because she is not living them, so it is going to bring you a fairly brief review because it is a very short book, with only 16 chapters and 65 pages.
This book is titled fractĂşrame, and it is narrated from the perspective of Adam which is not one of my favorite characters, and since I realized that it was narrated by him instead of reading it with a bit of misgivings. When we start reading this book, we move a little bit into the past to understand the point of view of some tense moments between Juliette and Adam, from the perspective of both of them then. But we also see several moments between James and Adam. Let's remember that James is Adam's younger brother and he's basically a kid who is involved in this whole time of the war. Then we move a little bit to the present at the moment where Juliette, Kenji, Adam and others go out to fight the war and they all get separated because obviously there are a lot of soldiers and Juliette is taken away. This is the moment when Juliette is kind of kidnapped by the commander of sector 45.
Here we begin to see what happened to the rest of the team members, since Juliette was not present. How the omega point was bombed, who was left alive and what they did to basically survive. We also live a very tense moment which was when they have back to the mega point to try to save the people and they realize that they are not going to get there in time, we begin to think about James advances despairs a lot for his little brother, but fortunately James had gone out to the battlefield because he planned to fight and let's say that was a little stupid thought, but it was what saved his life basically. And this book gives me where I do because they end it all in what was Adam and James' like original house which reminded me a ton of the first book, but we see it pretty shattered because losing people you lived with basically your whole life or for a long time isn't easy and having wounded at a point where everyone is wanted isn't easy either.
I thought I wasn't going to like this book I thought it was going to be a martyrdom to read, I started reading this book thinking about how bad I had felt when I read Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas, because it is narrated by a character that I don't like at all which is Chol Westfall and I thought the same thing was going to happen to me with Adam, fortunately it wasn't so because Adam at least I don't hate him I just don't like him and in some movements he irritates me a little, but I really don't hate him. And since it's a pretty short book, about 65 pages that I was able to read in basically an hour, I didn't feel like it was too much of an obligation to finish reading it either. Obviously, I have to recommend this story if you want to read them because it's a complement to be able to continue with it and understand in a better way the saga and all the characters individually. I hope you loved to know my opinions about it, see you soon!
