Easter in a family of readers with books as gifts. 📚📚 ( ENG/ESP)

English

Good morning hivers and happy Easter Monday, how was your Easter? My very quiet one, my husband was on duty so I spent it with my family, I hope this is the right community to talk about books and family, instead of the book reviews I usually do (but hey I finished others so you will soon find other reviews). Not all children love to read, not all people love to read and not all families share the passion for reading. I am lucky in this my mother @silviabeneforti has always been a great reader and introduced me to reading very early I still remember my first books one by the comedian Giobbe Covatta that made me laugh a lot because it had funny illustrations and one of Jewish fairy tales that I still have in my library.

Obviously growing up I developed other tastes in reading I loved horror books for children and as a teenager I fell in love first with Stephen King, then with Anne Rice and a long series of authors especially horror and fantasy. Of course I loved Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, the Shannara saga, Terry Pratchett and many others. Growing up I never stopped reading and I obviously expanded my readings becoming an avid reader of various literary genres. But as you can see from the photos I'm not the only one, when I go to my parents I often "steal" some books because as you can see their library is also very well stocked and both I and they have a bad habit in both houses there are books everywhere, in every room and in every free corner.

My mom's bookcases are prettier than mine though because they are full of lovely trinkets and since she and my stepfather are both artists it is full of their paintings and objects created by them. Anyway we also have the very nice tradition of often giving each other books for the holidays. Yesterday I received one by Liz Moore, an actress I already knew and liked and one by an author I adore and of whom I already have several books, Hanya Yanagiara who in my opinion writes divinely! It is very nice to grow up and have a family of readers and I hope that if I have a child I will also pass on this beautiful passion to them.

They say if your parents read that will go a long way in making you want to read as well. It's possibly even more important than school.

Anyway, you have a nice library!
Happy Easter :)
