I like the comparison between release patterns of books traditionally vs that of mangas or tv shows. The difference is that the latter have dedicated teams to ensure consistent. So be mindful that you consistently work on those other parts.

Tv shows also have a lot more moving pieces, different actors, music, cameramen and all that. I find splitting the book up makes it easier to keep consistent because it's organized into more manageable parts.
