A Review of The Goddess - a Hive serial fiction published by @wrestlingdesires

For the past few days, I have had my head buried in The Goddess an adventure story that starts off deep in the jungles of South America and quickly takes us on a rollercoaster ride around the world.

Written by @wrestlingdesires, in his earlier days on Hive, it is a light and easy read. Perfect for the average middle schooler who will no doubt delight in the pages of each chapter, indulging in the adventures of Lilac and her long-time travel companion, as they attempt to protect The Goddess, an extremely rare and exquisite flower discovered in a remote region of the world.

The Goddess has some priceless qualities. It is no surprise therefore that a greedy gang of hoodlums has their eyes on it, and Lilac soon finds herself on a wild adventure spanning continents, intent on protecting the precious flower at all costs.

The plot is perfectly paced and each chapter flows seamlessly into the next, with some wonderful characterisation, and scene setting. The author makes use of well-placed cliffhangers to hook us from one chapter into the next and his sporadic use of humorous banter raises a giggle to break even the tensest moments of suspense. Adventure, mystery, intrigue, and numerous plot twists make this novelette a page-turner for the young at heart.

@wrestlingdesires is a prolific writer who has authored many wonderful short stories and novelettes; most of which are published on the Hive blockchain.

Since The Goddess, he has focussed more on YA and adult fiction and has won a number of contests and awards for his writing. Most notably, he received the Inkwell Golden Quill Award in 2022 and was also featured by the Scholar and Scribe community in their first annual Scribe Spotlight, highlighting their "most diligent and talented authors". He has also received recognition in The Ink Well Highlights Magazine.

He is a writing treasure on the Blockchain and I thoroughly enjoy reading the stories that emanate from his incredibly creative mind. Definitely worth a follow on Hive!
