You know that feeling of intense satisfaction when you've finished a project. That's what I am on now.
I've only had and noticed this feeling 3 times. The most recent was when I started and caught up with One Piece fans, downloading 1,000+ episodes in the span of four months.
That was last year, from August 31st to November 30th. A wonderful voyage abd experience, the filling at the end was pure ecstasy.
This year, I've done something similar but with books.
I'm here to proudly say that I've finished the last released book of the Stormlight Archives, Rhythm of War.
If we add the last three books, plus 2 novella's we're looking at over 6,000 pages of pure high-strung fantasy.
Now 6,000 pages done from August 2nd to November 10th seems like a small feat (and admittedly, it is.) But for me, the ecstasy doesn't come from the quantity but the quality and I'll admit, I've yet to meet a book that has had me as invested in it's story like the Stormlight Archives.
Rhythm Of War
Plot
A bond smith has appeared and suddenly it's looking as though the war is going in the humans favor.
Odium and the fused are getting anxious. Rabionel, Lady of Wishes decides and sets a plan in which they can conquer Urithuru and leave the radiants defenseless.
The plan has been put in motion and an extremely physically and mentally weakened Kaladin and Navani has to defend the tower, save the radiants, and drive the fused before the sibling is completely corrupted and everyone is killed.
On the other hand Adolin and Shallan are off in Shadesmar trying to convince the honorspren to bond with humans and create radiants.
While Dalinar is at Emul and decides to begin training in his bondsmith powers and looks for the Herald bondsmith to teach him, although upon finding the Herald, Dalinar has a shocking realization of how dangerous a bondsmith unbound by honor is.
This book for me was rather slower to get into than others.
I don't know why though because there didn't seem to be any major change in anything.
I guess I can try to blame it on how it was so detailed in the beginning.
Most fantasy books shouldn't try and explain everything but to leave some things to the readers fancy and imagination.
Regardless this inability to delve straight through disappeared after the first fifty pages.
Immediately the book came alive with the planning to take Urithuru and Shallan going to the shattered planes.
It just kept going faster and faster, the reader getting sucked into the story deeper and deeper till you're just all in.
That's exactly what happened to me, so many interesting events, enlightening scenes, amusing dialogues and crazy arcs kept me scrolling page after page, not minding that it's past 3am and I've been reading for over 2 hours with no breaks.
So many plots and counter plots left my mouth open and my mind in awe.
The numerous reveals in this particular book would have drawn an army of Cryptics.
Then there was Wit with his beautifully unique words of encouragement 😭✨
The ending of this book was a major cliff hanger, truly the biggest we've ever seen in the series.
It leaves the readers with so many questions dieing in their hearts that they just need answers to.
Thankfully, the next book Words Of Truth is meant to be released this December. Till then I'd just bide my time and wait for the Stormlight Santa with his sled pulled by larkins to release the next book.

Drawing the reader in is what every writer should attain to.
I think going on a marathon read is more noteworthy than a marathon watch. I can bingewatch shite on Netflix while I am working and yet have no fluffing clue what it is about.
The reason being when I read a book, that is all I do. When I watch a screen I multitask!
Been years since I read good fantasy though!
I guess you're right...
If only you didn't mean this literarily😔😔
I don't even know how you read this 😂😂😂
I don't feel like I want to know how you read it 😂😂
So please stop reading that paragraph like that😭😂😂😂
That was a beautiful way to encourage a fear stricken man lol. I can see a glimpse of why you are so into it.
So, this novel has a relaxed plot at the beginning and feels rushed at the end? But it looks like it's really fun.
