This sounds like an absolute gem of a book, I can't even imagine how good it is to use fiction and historical facts together.
Last time I read a book like that I didn't want to drop it

    Ken Follett is a writer who takes great care of the historical details in his books, which are truly extensive, true treatises.

    This book is part of the series entitled The Pillars of the Earth, made up of: The Pillars of the Earth, A World Without End, A Pillar of Fire, and Darkness and Dawn.

      I think a TV series has been made from these four books but I haven't been able to download it so far.
