This sounds like an absolute gem of a book, I can't even imagine how good it is to use fiction and historical facts together.
Last time I read a book like that I didn't want to drop it

This book is part of the series entitled The Pillars of the Earth, made up of: The Pillars of the Earth, A World Without End, A Pillar of Fire, and Darkness and Dawn.

Ha, I forgot he is also a master of series.

I think a TV series has been made from these four books but I haven't been able to download it so far.
