When it comes to psychology or the science of mental health, we can't forget about experts from the past to the most recent. Of course we will be familiar with the name Sigmund Freud.

In psychology, of course, we already know that Sigmund Freud was a doctor who discovered psychoanalysis, which is referred to as the first school in the field of psychology.

In a book written by M. Arief Hakim with a thickness of 58 pages, Arief introduces concisely and densely to us how the father of Psychoanalysis lived from his childhood. Freud's family is of Jewish descent, but he and his family did not embrace Judaism. Freud's critical thinking was born from within his home, how he saw the disparity between himself and his seven siblings. How he was treated special because he had above-average intelligence, while his seven siblings did not get a special place in his cramped house. Not to mention, Jacob Freud, the father who was not financially established and had to support his children, and also married three times, it was then the turning point of critical thinking from a Sigmund Freud.

Freud's journeys in discovering psychoanalysis certainly did not end there. Freud's journey as a neuropathologist in Vienna in 1885 was also the starting point of Freud's struggle to bridge the gap between neurology and psychology.

This book continued to take me into the journeys of Sigmund Freud until I became interested in other books about him.

Knowing the Thinker Who Loved Literature

Since childhood, Freud has loved literature, one of which is the work of Shakespeare, which he read at the age of 8 years. Other than that, he enjoyed opera and muujsik the most. In this chapter, it is also mentioned that Freud was very generous but careful in using money for his personal needs, as it was told that Freud even only had three suits of clothes.

The Interpretation of Dreams

After the death of his father which made Freud face a period of grief for up to three years, he finally found a new idea which was later printed in a book entitled The Interpretaion Of Dream which was then used for a psychoanalytic approach to his patients.

The rest you can probably read on your own and find out, it's good to see from the beginning how psychoanalysis helps us to better understand the inner human being, the mind, the conscious and unconscious that affects human emotions.

The book then wraps up nicely with the fact that in 1902 Freud was appointed professor at the University of Vienna and began his great journey to spread his knowledge of psychoanalysis. Also about his friendship with Carl Jung, who was equally important in the realm of psychology.

In the end, I feel lucky to have finished this very insightful little book. Thank you for reading my work. See you...

I had to go ask my AI what psychoanalysis was real quick!
I don't think I'll be interested in this kind of book, not because it sounds bad or anything but it's not just the genre I'm into but there's always a first time for everything, ayy?
Nice review by the way!

Actually, this book is more of a book that will guide you if you want to know more about Freud's family background. Yes, of course, not everyone is interested in this book, and that's totally okay, right? Whatever the genre, the most important thing is that you enjoy reading it, right dear? Thank you for stopping by and supporting me

You're right, the most important thing is that you enjoy what you're reading.🥰

This comes off somewhat as a biography. Is it? I'm not sure how I'd do with reading the book, but what interests me is to know for myself how Freud's family was run and in what ways he was treated differently. Stories on family-life can be captivating.

Yes, this is similar to a biography and how Freud's origins and family background led to the birth of the concept of psychoanalysis. Thank you for stopping by, @cheeamaka
