Hello friends of this community, Hive book and lovers of good literature, today I would like to talk a little about the Real and Wonderful, present in one of the most read books of the great writer Alejo Carpentier, which inspired me to acquire more knowledge about this movement.
It is worth mentioning that when we talk about Lo Real y Maravilloso, we are talking about a way of characterizing the Latin American reality using surrealism.

Hola amigos de esta comunidad, Hive book y amantes de la buena literatura, el día de hoy me gustaría hablarles un poco sobre lo Real y Maravilloso, presente en uno de los libros más leídos del gran escritor Alejo Carpentier, el cual me inspiró a adquirir más conocimientos a cerca de que se trata a ese movimiento.
Cabe destacar que cuando se habla de Lo Real y Maravilloso, se habla de una forma de caracterizar la realidad latinoamericana utilizando el surrealismo.

What do Lo Real y Maravilloso and Alejo Carpenter have in common?
Lo Real y Maravilloso is a movement that emerged in the middle of the 20th century by the Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier, theorized in his novel "El Reino de Este Mundo" (The Kingdom of This World). This novel takes place during the Haitian revolution, and in it appear real characters and facts of that time, at the same time that wonderful events occur, through which part of the Latin American culture is made known, such as the belief of the blacks in the licanthropic powers of Makanal, which represents miscegenation and transculturation.
Carpenter shows us the hope and persistence of the African rites, of the African religion and its real wonders, reflects the human instinct in search of freedom.

¿Qué tienen en común Lo Real y Maravilloso y Alejo Carpenter?
Lo Real y Maravilloso es un movimiento que surge a mediados del siglo xx por el escritor cubano Alejo Carpentier, teorizado en su novela "El Reino de Este Mundo". Esta novela transcurre en la revolución haitiana, y en ella aparecen personajes y hechos reales de esa época, al mismo tiempo que ocurren sucesos maravillosos, a través de los cuales se da a conocer parte de la cultura latinoamericana, como es la creencia de los negros en los poderes licantrópicos de Makanal, que representa el mestizaje y la transculturación.
Carpenter nos muestra la esperanza y la persistencia de los ritos africanos, de la religión africana y sus reales maravillas, refleja el instinto humano en búsqueda de su libertad.

The novel is composed of four parts, which correspond to important moments of the Haitian revolution.
Moments in which the real and the marvelous are observed in the novel:
It is expressed that the rains obeyed the incantations of the wise men.
There was a moment in which the protagonist Ti Noel followed Mackandal to the house of Mamán Loi, an old woman who knew herbs and plants whom the Mandinga visited. There, Ti Noel heard about animals that had had human offspring and about men with lycanthropic powers.
Alejo Carpentier keeps in mind, in all his writings, the real and the marvelous. Reading this novel has been, for me, very interesting, since it gave me a lot of knowledge about history.

La novela está compuesta por cuatro partes, las cuales corresponden a momentos importantes de la revolución de Haití.
Momentos en los que se observa lo real y maravilloso en la novela:
Se expresa que las lluvias obedecían a los conjuros de los sabios.
Hubo un momento en el que el protagonista Ti Noel siguió a Mackandal a la casa de Mamán Loi, una anciana conocedora de yerbas y plantas a quien el mandinga visitaba. Allí, Ti Noel escuchaba sobre animales que habían tenido descendencia humana y sobre hombres con poderes licantrópicos.
Alejo Carpentier tiene presente, en todos sus escritos, lo real y maravilloso. La lectura de esta novela ha sido, para mí, muy interesante, puesto que me aporto muchos conocimientos a cerca de la historia.

Muy buen libro, ya lo leí y aúnque me costó entender algunas vosas acabé interpretando bien el libro completo y me aporto muchos conosimientos de la historia que no sabía.
Que bueno que lo entendieras completo. Es un poco complicado pero muy interesante

Hola, es un libro con gran contenido histórico, no lo eh leído perl eh escuchado hablar, además de ller este buen post y es muy bueno, como toda la literatura de Carpentier. Un saludo
