I had the same thought a few times. Globalization has gone too far, caused way too much destruction, and it's time to roll back on it. Now, I don't think that Trump has that in mind at all - but I do see quite a few positive effects from the De-Globalization that his isolationist methods will likely bring upon the world.

Anyway, taking the power and decentralize it is a nice idea - but I also don't trust humans with power. I only trust those who don't want it.

I think Trump is pushing for more consuming, not less. Though, it might have the effect of less in many places, as prices rise considerably. As you know though, people from Europe tend to need less than people from the US.
