Hi I am @azircon. I am writing on behalf of Finance and Economy Community. It is unlikely that I will be writing too many posts on behalf of this community account, unless I have any news to share for the community.

Why another community
Personally, I love to write posts about finance and global economy. Previously I used to post in Leofinance, that was way back when it was a community and not a front-end, called inLeo. I have never enjoyed too much traction there, and it felt cheesy from the very beginning. However, I did publish a lot of posts with that tag, but never gotten much traction.
Not that I care about traction, but lately, I discovered there are really no other financially oriented community at hive. At least not that I am aware. So I thought, I should create one. I do not know if anyone will write here or not. If they do I will be thankful and happy.
A couple of individuals recently asked me to create this community, and here I am delivering the product. There will be moderation here, and rules are common sense in most cases. Please follow the written guidelines at the community page. There are two volunteer moderators so far.
I want to be abundantly clear that neither of them endorsing me or this community in any shape or form. Similarly, I am not endorsing either of them. This is 100% voluntary. Also there is no monetary benefit regarding posting in this community, other than the tag.
Guidelines
I have written the basic guidelines, as I mentioned, it is mostly common sense, and majority of the hive communities follow similar principles. Please read them at the community page. The main thing to remember is to give people an alternative to financial postings. That is about it. I do not want to make a long post.
Subscribed. For too long here crypto has been substituted for financial and I think it is better to have an umbrella community that encompasses all aspects of finance and economy of which crypto is only a small (sorry bros) part!

For too long that's been the norm and general finance related content that people actually relate to in their day to day lives has been ignored.
If I see a BTC and UP/DOWN post, I will automatically mute it without any explanation :)

And thank you for offering up an alternative to LeoFinance/Inleo... that place is just a little too cultish/fanboy-ish for my liking, and I'm sick to death of the eternal round-robin backpatting over the genius of some random memecoin that'll be forgotten in 17 minutes from now.
I'm mostly interested in personal finance and crypto as it intersects with everyday applications/situations in our daily world... from retirement to buying a carton of eggs.
I have been seeing that for a while, but never really took the time, and did it. The need is there. I have written a lot of financial stuff, stuff on crypto, even recently a lot of statistics and hive etiquette, which all have a lot of financial component to it.
I didn't really found a appropriate community to post this on. Hopefully this will fill the gap.

Only for the past few year i have taken more control of my financial situation, before that it was more saving. Now slowly building up a investment... for what i know now i whish i was started with this journey 20 years ago...

I have just joined the community. Despite being a lawyer by profession, many years ago I empirically studied economics, mainly the Chicago and Austrian Schools. Currently, I am a small business owner in Cuba and a professor at the university.
Given the value I know the content you will start publishing here will bring, I predict good growth for this community.

Love the broad subject matter of the community and obviously this is not to compete with inLeo which is the largest community on Hive where you can get lost. Hopefully here we will focus on Quality and not Quantity.
