Dragon Sugar Palm Fruit Dessert

Honestly, I'm confused about what to write the name of the menu for the recipe that I'm going to share. But I hope you can understand what I'm going to say and this will be very useful in the future, of course in plant-based foods and all those who are on a vegan diet. I'm very happy to be able to share something even though it looks very simple.

I'll start with the name of this menu, Dragon Sugar Palm Fruit. Foods that both come from two different fruits, but uniquely both of these fruits are commodities that are quite widely distributed in tropical areas. Dragon fruit which has a distinctive red color (although there are white and yellow ones), but this fruit is often used as a natural food coloring and of course it is rich in benefits.

And the second fruit, sugar palm fruit. Wow, what is that? Comes from a fruit that is usually called 'Kolang-Kaling' in Indonesian. But actually, this fruit comes from sugar palm fruit. So, sugar palm not only produces palm sap and sugar palm, but there is also a fruit that is white, slightly clear and has a chewy texture. It is said to have benefits as a source of collagen from plant based.

Often, sugar palm fruit is very much in the market during the month of Ramadan approaching Eid Fitr. Usually as a fresh meal for guests and eaten like candied fruit. I want you to know that this food is really delicious and I want you to try this recipe at home! Of course, I will make low-calorie candies so you can try it without fear of blood sugar spikes.

The Ingredients:

  • 1 whole dragon fruit
  • 250 gr sugar palm fruit
  • 10 drops of stevia or diabetic sugar
  • Pandan leaves
  • 500 gr water

How ​​To Make Dragon Sugar Palm Fruit:

In making this dessert, it's like making very easy food in general. Like making candies but without sugar, because I believe with the extraordinary benefits of sugar palm fruit, maintaining sugar limits will really help make this food healthier and without worry.

  • The first, you have to wash it first so that it is clean without residue. Then prepare boiled water and others.

  • Cut the dragon fruit, I even use the skin so that the color is more absorbed. Put it in a pan that is ready to boil sugar palm fruit and dragon fruit.

  • Add water, diabetic sugar and also a little salt to strengthen the taste.

  • Add pandan leaves for a stronger aroma, vanilla is also very good but I only have pandan leaves.

  • Boil until the water reduces or until the water runs out. After that, store it in a glass jar with sweetenest touch.

  • Before storage it in the refrigerator, it would be better to let it sit until the heat is gone and ready to eat.

I highly recommend eating it cold from the refrigerator, because it will be very fresh and perfect to eat during the day with hot weather!
