If you have bananas that are too ripe, don't throw them away, let's make this snack, namely godok banana. Today I will make a delicious and simple godok cake. This is an old-school snack that I have had since I was little. The bananas I use are wak bananas that have no seeds and are very ripe, you can see from the outer skin that has turned black. In our area, we call it banana bee. I remember an old Indonesian song with the lyrics "black sweet skin I am fascinated, sweet spoiled smile I am crazy about, am I wrong lola if I am crazy about aaa .." Haha, just passing by, sis .. Okay, let's continue. Bananas like this are very delicious for making this godok-godok cake. Why not, the riper the banana, the sweeter the banana tastes because it contains more sugar. So we don't need to add any more sugar to make this godok-godok cake.
There are actually many versions of making cengkodok or this godok-godok cake, some combine it with wheat flour or tapioca flour. However, my recipe uses sago flour and grated coconut as a combination. The combination of sago flour will give a chewy texture to the cake, although its characteristics are the same as tapioca flour, but both are very different, especially in terms of raw materials, taste and color.
Let's just look at the ingredients I will use and the following preparation method.
Ingredient needed:
- 1 comb or 12 ripe bananas
- 4 tablespoons sago flour
- 3 tablespoons grated coconut
- 1 tablespoon salt
Preparation:
First: peel the bananas one by one until finished. Mash the bananas using a glass, fork or other. Don't make it too smooth.
Second: Add salt. add sago flour and grated coconut. Stir until evenly distributed
Third: heat the oil using low heat. Take a little bit of dough using a spoon for the size you like. Fry until golden brown. Do this until the dough runs out. Lift and serve
Cengkodok or banana godok-godok is ready to be served..
Very delicious, chewy, savory, sweet, that's what I felt when I ate this godok-godok cake. Eating some of these godok-godok cakes can make our stomachs full for a moment.
This godok-godok cake is not oily even though it is fried, even though as we know very ripe bananas should not be fried directly because they will absorb oil. We should process it into snacks like this or other snacks such as making banana cakes, ongol-ongol and others.
Oh yes, if you like the godok-godok cake that is more fluffy and has a rounder shape, you can add baking soda to the dough like the one sold by the fried food seller, I prefer it without baking soda even though the shape is messy but it tastes good and soft. That's all for today. .
