Kolak is one of Indonesia's typical desserts made from coconut milk, granulated sugar / palm sugar and pandan leaves. However, the filling for kolak varies. You can be creative in choosing various ingredients according to your wishes so you don't get bored. So that it can be a variation of kolak dishes that make your tongue always want to eat it. Like me, today I want to make kolak with ingredients that are easy to get but still delicious. In addition to its delicious taste, kolak is also easy and practical to make.
This sweet treat is one of my favorite foods at home, therefore I make it very often. Like not long ago I also shared a kolak recipe like this, the only difference is that this time I added sweet corn to the kolak. Did you know, eating kolak is enough to make my stomach full to the point that I forget to eat rice again if I have eaten kolak. Here are the ingredients I want to use and also the steps for making kolak.
Ingredients needed:
- 3 sweet corns
- 2 sweet potatoes
- 5 kepok bananas
- 1 coconut for coconut milk
- 250 grams of granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 pandan leaf
How to make:
First: prepare a container then comb the corn
Second: boil water. Put the sweet corn in the pan and cover. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the corn is cooked and tender.
Third: while waiting for the corn to cook. Prepare other ingredients, namely bananas. Peel and cut the bananas into thin circles or according to taste. Likewise with sweet potatoes, peel and cut into cubes or according to your wishes. Next, prepare the coconut milk.
Fourth: after the corn is cooked. Add the sweet potatoes, kepok bananas and pandan leaves, cook for 10 minutes or until tender. After that, add the coconut milk, wait until it boils, then add the granulated sugar and salt. Stir well. Wait until it boils again, then turn off the stove and it is ready to serve.
The sweet taste and soft filling texture make this dish so special, very interesting to serve with your beloved family. This kolak dish can be an alternative healthy menu for the family that can be consumed at any time. However, for those of you who avoid excessive sugar and fat intake in your diet, you can adjust the amount of sugar and coconut milk used in this kolak dish.
Oh yes, I also want to give you a tip, if you want your kolak to be thick, you can add 1 handful of sticky rice or 2 tablespoons of cornstarch.
