In my yard there are several types of papaya plants, some of which bear fruit and some of which only flower, but most of them here have flowers. Papaya flowers and fruit can be processed into anything, such as papaya fruit can be processed into juice when the fruit is ripe, it can also be processed into spicy and sour vegetables, young fruit and can also be stir-fried. Anything can be cooked with this plant for food. day or night, papaya flowers can also be cooked with tauco or stir-fried.
I'm here to prepare papaya flowers for me to stir-fry as one of the lunch menus this time. This papaya flower is very bitter if you can't process it properly, my ancestors used to process this papaya flower, some used extract from mountain soil called (NAPHAIH) and some used under the fence leaves. I process these papaya flowers using kedondong leaves because the NAPHAIH has run out, the difference between using soil from the mountains and under the fence leaves is really different from the taste of the papaya leaves. When using soil from the mountains there is no longer the slightest bitter taste compared to using under the fence leaves which still have a slightly bitter taste.
This time I will cook stir-fried papaya flowers using the following ingredients:
- Papaya flowers
- Cassava leaves
- Under the fence leaves 5
stalk - Kaffir lime leaves 5
- 1 stalk lemongrass
- Bay leaf 2
- Tauco 1 spoon
- 3 red chilies
- 15 cayenne peppers
- 2 cloves of onion
red - 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tomato
Cooking Steps
First
Boil the papaya flowers by mixing the under the fence leaves, cook until boiling and until the papaya leaves are crushed.
Second
Finely slice the kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, tomatoes, red chilies, puree the cayenne pepper and cut the cassava leaves into small pieces.
Third
If the papaya flowers are ripe, remove and drain. Then heat the cooking oil then saute the chopped spices until fragrant, don't forget to add tauco, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and bay leaves.
Fourth
Put the cassava leaves into the pan until half cooked, then add the boiled papaya flowers, stir until evenly mixed.
fifth
Add salt and stir until completely mixed and cooked.
sixth
Serve.
This papaya flower does taste a bit bitter but the taste is quite delicious. You might be able to make thes papaya flowers with other recipes, one of which is the recipe I use.
See you again in my next post.
