This is an important dish for vegetarians to meet their protein needs and is a staple in many kitchens around the world. 🍀 1 cup dried red cowpea.
🍀 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or coconut).
🍀 1Cup of coconut milk.
🍀 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder.
🍀 1/2 teaspoon of Mustard powder.
🍀 1/2 teaspoon of Fenugreek seeds.
🍀 Salt as needed.
🍀 Onion, finely chopped.
🍀 Some curry leaves.
🍀 A few chopped green chillies.
🍀 About 2 dry chili pods.
🍀 A few cinnamon sticks.
🍀 A little bit of finely chopped garlic.
Method of making...
1 Step,
First start by soaking dry red cowpea in water for at least 7-8 hours. Because it is easy to cook. After that, after soaking, rinse the peas with water. Then again take a large enough pot and add water to it again and boil it for about 15-20 minutes.
2 Step,
Then onions, chilies, garlic, curry leaves. etc. cut thinly and keep separately.
3 Step,
Then put a container on medium heat and add about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to it and heat it. Once the oil is heated. Add fenugreek seeds, garlic, onion, curry leaves, dry chili pieces, cinnamon pieces and mix well. Fry it for about a minute.
4 Step,
Then add turmeric powder, mustard powder, salt powder and chilli powder and mix well.
5 Step,
Then, add the boiled red cowpeas to the mixture and stir well. Next, pour in the coconut milk and let it cook for 4-5 minutes. Finally, remove the curry from the heat.
