Today, I'm excited to share with you a recipe for a nutritious curry made with chickpeas and lentils. Since chickpeas and lentils are legumes, they are rich in protein and fiber. Packed with an array of spices, this curry not only tantalizes the taste buds but also nourishes the body. It's an ideal dish for vegetarians. Required Ingredients...
🍀 1/2 cup of chickpeas.
🍀 1/2 cup of large dhal.
🍀 A little chopped garlic.
🍀 A few sticks of cinnamon.
🍀 A finely chopped onion.
🍀 Curry leaves.
🍀 About 3 chopped kochi pods.
🍀 1 cup of coconut milk.
🍀 1/2 teaspoon of Fenugreek seeds.
🍀 1 teaspoon of roasted curry powder.
🍀 1 teaspoon of curry powder.
🍀 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
🍀 Salt to taste.
🍀 1 teaspoons of chili powder.
🍀 1 teaspoons of crushed chili powder.
🍀 1 tablespoons of coconut oil.
Method of making.
First you soak dry chickpeas and lentils in water overnight. Wash them well before cooking. Take another pot and boil it well.
Finely chop the onion and garlic and get ready.
Then take a vessel and add about a tablespoon of coconut oil to it and let it heat on a low flame. After the oil is hot, add fenugreek seeds, garlic, curry leaves, cinnamon and kochi to it and fry it for about a minute.
Then add chilli powder, chopped chillies, curry powder, turmeric powder and salt to it and mix well.
Then add some coconut milk to it. Mix it and add boiled chickpeas and dhal to it and cook for about 4 minutes. Finally add some roasted curry powder to it and cook for about a minute and remove from the stove.
So, this vegetarian chickpea and lentil curry is ready. With just a few simple steps, we can save time while preparing it. A recipe with two different grains is curious, however, I think that these two that you use balance perfectly, since one, the chickpea, is heartier, while the split peas are softer in texture and shape.
