How are you, vegan friends? Today the weather in Indonesia is still very uncertain, it rains and then suddenly becomes hot. It is very uncomfortable for some people and can cause the body's immune system to become very reduced and make them easily sick.

This morning the rainy weather is the most suitable when it rains, drink a cup of warm tea and I make sesame fried bananas for this morning tea friend. Coincidentally there were guests at home so we all made it to serve.

Fried bananas are a favorite food for Indonesians, usually fried bananas are easy to find in street food and restaurants considering the affordable price of bananas and the way to make them is very easy. There are several types of bananas in Indonesia and those used for frying are uli banana, kepok banana and horn banana. Each type has a different shape and taste.

This time the banana I used was uli banana which has a slightly sour taste but the texture and sweetness are perfect for frying in flour. Today I added vanilla and sesame seeds to add aroma to the fried bananas.

Prepared materials:

• 2 uli bananas
• 70 grams of wheat flour
• 20 grams of rice flour
• ½ tsp vanilla powder
• ¼ tsp salt
• enough sesame seeds (I used ± 3 tbsp sesame seeds)
• 100 ml water

How to make

• Peel the banana skin then cut the banana into cotton balls or cut it according to what you like.

• Add wheat flour, rice flour, salt, vanilla powder to a bowl then slowly pour in water until it reaches the consistency you want.

• Dip the bananas in flour then sprinkle with sesame seeds on both sides

• Heat the oil then fry the bananas until they are golden brown.

• Sesame fried bananas are ready to be served while warm.

This fried banana is a favorite menu at our house. So we usually serve fried bananas with shrimp paste chili sauce. But this time I didn't use chili paste for the fried banana dip because I added sesame seeds so it's better enjoyed hot with warm tea.
