"Thiwul Krawu" a traditional food in my hometown is made from cassava flour.

Hello vegan friends, how is your day? Hopefully you will always be happy... today I have the opportunity to share with you a vegan menu that is very easy to make.
Today I made "thiwul Krawu" maybe the name is unique but thiwul itself is a preparation made from cassava flour. In my hometown, precisely in Jogjakarta, Java. It is famous for producing processed cassava because there are many farmers there. Usually cassava can be processed into many types of food which of course have their own characteristics and taste.

I will show you several preparations made from cassava which are a source of income for several people in my hometown.

This is "Krecek" made from cassava which is steamed then thinly sliced and dried in the sun. Once dry, it can be fried directly or seasoned according to taste, you can add chilies and sugar or sprinkle with salt.

This one is "opaque" still from cassava but this one is processed from cassava which is grated then cooked into a porridge-like shape and molded then dried in the sun, once dry it can be fried straight away.

Apart from what I mentioned, there are still many types of cassava dishes that we usually make. One of them is thiwul, the way to make it is simply to mix it with a splash of water and then steam it. Even though it looks easy, not everyone can make thiwul rice, friends. Immediately, I will show you how to make it

Ingredients

100 grams of cassava flour
100 ml water (but I didn't use all of it, just take enough because the way to take it is just to sprinkle it, not pour it)
50 grams of grated coconut that has been steamed with salt

How to make

• Prepare a steamer pan and heat it on the stove.

• Pour the cassava flour into a container then take a little water with your hands and sprinkle it on top of the cassava flour.

• Rub the flour with your hands in circles until the flour is lumpy. If you feel there is not enough water, you can add a little splash of water. Until you get a texture like this

• Pour cassava flour into the steamer then steam for 8 minutes or until cooked

• Thiwul is ready to be served with a sprinkling of steamed grated coconut.

Friends, apart from being served like this, thiwul is also usually used as a staple food to replace rice because we usually eat it with side dishes or chili sauce. Some people also make this tiwul into cakes but I have never tried making it myself... maybe next time I will try making a cake made from this tiwul.

This is all I can share with you. I hope you like what I wrote and are interested in trying to make it. Thank you for support. I hope that in this new year I can develop and be better than before. See you again.
