Getting out of the habit is not easy but I am trying to become healthier with my diet and lifestyle. My staple food is rice. From the age of 1 year until now I have always consumed rice 3 times a day, namely morning, afternoon and evening, but for the past 6 months I have been in the process of reducing my use of rice even though it is still very difficult for me to let go of the use of carbohydrates. Therefore, I am trying to get away from my rice consumption little by little. Currently I will make a dish made from sweet potatoes and oatmeal, this method does not involve coconut milk and soy milk that I always consume. Making this dish is very easy.
The ingredients I need to make this dish are:
1. 200 grams of sweet potatoes
2. 100 grams of oatmeal
3. 20 grams of palm sugar
4. 1-2 pandan leaves
5. ¼ teaspoon of salt to balance the taste, but you can skip it if you don't want to
6. ½ tablespoon of cornstarch
7. 500 ML of water
My steps to make this simple dish are:
1. The first step is I peel the sweet potatoes first then I wash them until clean then I cut them into several pieces then I put them in a pan

2. The next step I add water
3. And I mix salt in it so that the sweet potatoes don't taste bland
4. Don't forget the pandan leaves that I have tied in a knot so that when I boil them later they will smell fragrant
5. After that boil the sweet potatoes until soft then add palm sugar to it. Because the palm sugar I use is genuine so it dissolves very easily and if you doubt the authenticity of the palm sugar you have, just slice the palm sugar thinly so that it dissolves easily.
6. After the palm sugar has dissolved then I dissolve the cornstarch with a little water then I mix it into the boiled sweet potatoes after that I stir slowly
7. And the next step is I add the oatmeal, stir for a while and turn off the stove.
8. This dish is finished and I named it oatmeal and sweet potato porridge
It is very easy to make and it tastes good without any burden on my digestion maybe because there is no coconut milk here. This kolak is perfect for breakfast or dinner because it contains carbohydrates and of course this dish is very filling. If you have time try my recipe. and this porridge will taste better if left in the refrigerator for a day after that you can eat it. However, it is also okay for a warm dish. greetings from me maytom Indonesia.
