Rice pumpkin from my garden and benefits of eating it

Rice squash, scientifically known as Benincasa hispida, is a type of vegetable commonly found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Rice gourd looks green and has thin hairs on it. Inside there is a white soft shell which is edible. Various types of cooking are done with it, like rice pumpkin curry, rice pumpkin bhaji etc. Rice gourd is generally considered healthy to eat during summer as it has a cooling effect. Rice pumpkin is full of health benefits like it helps regulate body temperature and is also good for digestive system. Besides, it is rich in various vitamins and minerals.

Rice pumpkin, which is usually available in winter, is quite beneficial for health. It is rich in various nutrients. Some of the benefits of rice pumpkin are mentioned below:
