Today am bringing a very new recipe to me. I know that papaya and rice is a very good combination but cooking only papaya as stew that I have not try.
My mother in-law came to visit us once she comes she will bring some food stuff for me from the village.
She was not feeling so strong but she came with few things including papaya she came with so many of them.
I and my husband love eating papaya and we have eat so many of them and one of the papaya wanted to spoil.
I was thinking on what to do with the papaya because my mother in-law hate to waste food talk more of papaya she brings all the way from village I then remember papaya stew.
The day I eat this papaya stew in my village from my mom and I told my husband about it he said that we will try it one day.
My mother in-law was surprise to hear that there is something call papaya stew but when I finish cooking my papaya stew she eat more than me and my husband.
INGREDIENTS USED
1 big papaya
6 piece of pepper
1 medium onion
Salt to taste
1 cube of maggi
1/2 cup of groundnut oil
1 full spoon of mix spice
1/2 cup Water.
MIX SPICE : this is a grinded powered spice that contains ginger, turmeric, garlic, and rosemary.
PROCEDURE
STEP 1
You wash your papaya and cut out the head and the tail and cut the center to bring out the seeds inside the papaya
STEP 2
After bringing out the seeds inside the papaya you not peel the back of the papaya.
STEP 3
In a neat blender cut your papaya into pieces and blend.
Here am not using blender am using my mortar to mashed it.
I cut my papaya into pieces and put in my mortar to mashed.
I pound and pound and pound till is well pound.
STEP 4
Slice your onions, blend your pepper and wash your pot. Put your pot on the fire and allow it to dry before putting your groundnut oil.
Immediately your groundnut oil is hot you put salt after putting salt you add your onions.
After some minutes you add your well mash papaya and stir. Make sure that your papaya dries water.
STEP 5
Stir them very well and you start by adding pepper.
After pepper you add your spice, you can use any spice of your choice here am using mix spice and your maggi.
STEP 6
This is the last step where you will test your papaya stew to know if every thing is okay and then you add water. I love my stew to be thick that is why I don't use much water in preparing stew.
Cover your pot and allow it for 3 to 5 minutes your yummy and super delicious papaya stew will be ready.
I enjoyed this my papaya stew with white rice and the aroma is very good the taste i can't explain how I wish you all are here to have a taste is very very delicious try it and testify.

I would love to eat papaya, but unfortunately it's not a fruit you can get on every corner in Germany.
Thanks for the great recipe, at least I'll know what to do with a papaya when I get one.
