Jadah roasted sticky rice is a dish made from glutinous rice combined with grated coconut. Glutinous rice is cooked by steaming then mashed and shaped and then grilled. So as to produce a savory and very delicious sticky rice jadah. The process of making it is very easy but requires a lot of time during the process. But the end result makes us nostalgic for the taste. I'm sure you will love it, well to make it you can make a sweet version and a savory version. Well this time I made a savory version without sugar.

Instead of being curious, let's look at the step-by-step preparation of this sticky rice. Prepare the ingredients and do it at home, let's see the recipe below!.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of glutinous rice
  • 100 grams of grated coconut
  • 1 pandan leaf
  • ½ teaspoon salt

In the preparation of sticky rice, you must prepare the sticky rice first, well the process I soak the sticky rice from last night before use. Well usually takes approximately 7 hours for better and faster results during the steaming process later. Well this soaking is also very influential on the final result of the cake later.

Making Procedure

Step 1

Steam the sticky rice that has been soaked overnight until half cooked, don't forget to add the pandan leaves that have been concluded.

Cook until the sticky rice is perfectly cooked, now taste a little if the sticky rice is soft like rice, it means it can be removed.

Jadah sticky rice is ready to be enjoyed, arrange it on a serving plate and tie the pandan leaves on top to make it look more attractive. Well this glutinous rice can actually be enjoyed directly by the way I prepared it or can be enjoyed with coconut milk. But there are several recipes for this jadah prepared without being baked to be enjoyed directly. Well the other way can also be enjoyed by frying, but in my opinion the baked way is the best way produced by this dish.

The chewy savory with the combination of sticky rice and grated coconut makes this dish very authentic in my opinion, I really like the texture of the jadah after being grilled on the grill especially when grilled over coals I'm sure the smoky aroma makes it even more delicious, next time I have to try the version grilled over coals.
