Tempe Fried Rice Rawon Seasoning
Tempe fried rice is rice combined with tempeh instead of meat. But uniquely, this fried rice is made with a combination of rawon seasoning in the form of adding kluwek so that it has a color that tends to be blackish. Well as we know rawon does have a characteristic black color and I have made it in previous posts. However, there is a slight modification of the ingredients of this fried rice which is not all the spices in making rawon, I add only the main seasoning of rawon is very important, namely kluwek fruit.
So here are the step by step preparations in making a rawon fried rice dish!.
Ingredients
- 1 cup white rice,
- 1 tempeh board,
- 1 onion,
- 2 leave springonions,
- 2 large red chilies,
- ¼ teaspoon salt,
¼ teaspoon ground coriander, - 1 spoon butter,
- 1 seed kluwek,
- 1 clove shallots,
- 1 clove garlic,
- 1 hazelnut,
- 3 cayenne pepper
Cooking Procedure
Prepare the ground spices, then grind the spices until smooth using a little water.
Prepare the tempeh, thinly slice the tempeh and then heat the margarine until it melts.
Add tempeh and let tempeh until brownish yellow while stirring.
Finely chop small spring onion stalks or according to your taste.
Thinly slice the red chili and finely chop the onion.
After the tempeh is cooked, remove and drain then add the sauteed spices and cook until cooked.
Because I forgot to add the onion first, I added it after the spices were added. Also add the spring onion and then the chopped red chili.
Saute until everything is wilted and the water in the spices shrinks slightly.
Add the white rice and stir until evenly distributed, then season with salt and coriander powder.
Finally add tempeh that has been fried in margarine then stir and cook for a while. Don't forget to correct the taste, you can add mushroom broth if you like it.

My rawon-style fried rice is ready to serve, serve it while it's warm, then enjoy it with a cup of hot tea in the evening. This is a dish that really suits my palate, savory and spicy with an authentic taste from the rawon seasoning. Most importantly there is tempeh which makes this fried rice more complete so that whenever it can be enjoyed because it is very delicious.
For those of you who are confused about preparing fried rice, believe me this is one of the delicious fried rice recipes that tastes very balens, no sweetness. Only savory and spicy is one of the flavors you are most looking forward to. And you have to remember not to use mushy rice, because it will cause the fried rice to be watery and not tasty.
