Corn Pergedel
In Indonesia, there are many preparations of various home-made pergedel, usually I often make pergedel from potatoes. But this time I'm going to invite you to prepare a simple and very delicious corn fritter. Of course, corn fritters have a different preparation process than potato fritters. In my opinion, corn fritters are simpler and easier to prepare at any time. Here I will invite you to prepare the steps to make it!
Ingredients Needed
2 stalks of spring onion
2 red chili peppers
4 orange leaves
100 grams of wheat flour
1 hazelnut
1 clove shallot
2 cloves of garlic
Making Procedure
Prepare the corn, peel all the corn until it is finished, then all the ingredients such as chili onion leaves and lime leaves are finely cut.
Blend the spices with enough water, if it is smooth add the corn then blend again until smooth.
Next, pour the corn and spices that have been blended, then add the chopped spring onions and chilies.
Then add the lime leaves, and stir everything until evenly mixed, you can add chilies if you want it spicier.
Then add flour and stir the dough with the right composition. Then add salt and pepper powder and stir again.
Fry the batter by taking the batter using a spoon as if frying I took a spoonful of batter. You can fry thick and thin according to your taste, fry until brownish yellow.
Presentation Suggestion
Pergedel corn is unusual with a spicy salty-savory taste that can be eaten, very well served in warm conditions at the lunch table. Well in Indonesia itself pergedel corn is often served as a side dish to enjoy lunch with heavy food in the form of rice. Well while I'm used to enjoying this corn pergedel as a snack when relaxing with family.
As I said it tastes savory and also a little salty, but if you don't like salty, you can reduce the salt composition. Because the corn I use is sweet corn so there is a little sweetness and that's what makes it even more savory. And most importantly the aroma and bite of orange leaves make this pergedel even more delicious and has its own characteristics.
