Dates are one of the fruits that have seeds that are quite hard, the fruit originating from the Middle East is sold after fermentation and is identical to the black color which is very sweet in taste and quite soft in texture. Dates are enjoyed directly already very tasty, but when the Ramadhan season yesterday I had a lot of dates at home. So processing them into other food ideas became a must for me.
This classic date recipe is always the one I miss the most during the month of Ramadan like yesterday. I don't know why this childhood takjil is the best that my mom made. Not many people know about it, but trust me, it's delicious and my family's favorite snack at home.
Crispy Fried Dates
This is the best snack for that, therefore for those of you who are confused about what to process dates into, I think this is an easy way to do it. Curious about the recipe, let's check out the recipe below.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons of wheat flour
1 tablespoon rice flour
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Water to taste
Cooking Procedure
The first step is to prepare the dates then split the dates and remove the seeds.
Combine flour, add salt cornstarch and sugar in a container.
Then add vanilla powder and stir until evenly mixed.
Then add little by little water while stirring until thickened as desired.
If the batter has the right consistency as drawn, you can already put the date pieces into the flour mixture.
Then fry them in plenty of cooking oil over low heat until golden brown.
Result
Crispy dates are ready to be enjoyed, the taste is very fitting on the tongue with the right blend of flour that is not hard. Crispy and savory, there is a distinctive soft and moist texture of the dates. I really like the aroma, I don't know why when fried dates give off a fragrant aroma and it makes you want to try it.
Well in contrast to bananas that are fried, fried dates have a crunchier texture, probably because the meat is thinner so that when fried it becomes lighter. The sweetness is just right, well you need to know my mom when making flour dough does not add sugar this is because the dates are already sweet enough. But if you want the dough to be a little sweet, you can give a little sugar like this recipe.
