Satay is a favorite dish at home, usually satay is often processed from non-vegan ingredients, but there are types of satay that you can find delicious vegan versions on my blog, oyster mushroom satay and tempeh satay

Different from the satay that I have made before, this time utilizing banana heart as a raw material instead of meat to make satay. Of course, satay without seasoning or sauce is incomplete here I serve satay with a sweet and savory peanut sauce that will certainly make satay more delicious.

Banana Heart Satay

Banana heart satay is a processed banana heart satay that is finely mashed and then steamed. Then cut into squares and fried, the end result is skewered on skewers like satay in general. Very similar to real meat, its fibrous texture makes this satay perfect for those of you who can't enjoy meat at all or for vegans this is a must-try menu. Curious, let's take a step-by-step look at the preparation process.

Ingredients

Satay Ingredients

1 banana heart
150 grams of wheat flour
3 cloves shallot
3 cloves garlic
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground pepper
Mushroom broth to taste

Sauce Ingredients

5 red chili peppers
50 grams of peanuts
2 cloves shallot
2 cloves of garlic
To taste ginger
To taste sweet soy sauce
¼ teaspoon salt

Making Process

Making Banana Heart Satay

Step 1

Cut the banana heart into 2 pieces, remove the hard part of the banana heart, the banana heart is gummy and usually gives off a black color all over the meat. Mince all the banana heart into small pieces, if you don't want your hands to get gummy use gloves.

Step 2

Next, boil the banana heart until tender, in this process you can use a little salt to minimize the sap in the banana heart.

If it is cooked, remove it and drain the banana heart so that it cools quickly.

Serving Suggestion

I serve the fried satay on skewers, and then I serve it on a serving plate with the peanut sauce. You can also mix the two and enjoy immediately, because I like the dipped version with the sauce, so I serve both in separate containers.

Just look at the banana heart satay, it's ready to enjoy, enjoy it while it's warm more delicious. With the thick sauce, I tasted and dipped the satay. Savory and very soft satay, the outside has a crunchy texture. And the most like the peanut sauce is very good, savory, sweet and spicy it is the perfect taste.
