Tempeh Vegan sticks?!. Well, one of the things that attracted me when I found it on the internet some time ago. After tempeh katsu, I discovered this, and it sounded very unique and very interesting. How could it not be, this is happy news for vegan lovers to be able to enjoy steak without having to be afraid of animal content, even if it is only 30 percent. But thanks to this recipe I will show you all the sticks can also be made from vegan products.
The ease with which I can find tempeh here makes me very grateful. I really like tempeh, apart from being cheap it has a delicious taste. Of course the texture of the tempeh here is very good, I observed some time ago that tempeh would be perfect if made into sticks.
Made from tempeh with a combination of other ingredients, it will be very easy for you to make it. But pay attention when burning this stick. Make sure it is cooked evenly to the inside of the stick. Therefore, using low heat is very good for grilling.
Ingredients
1 piece of corn
1 carrot
A pinch of ground pepper
4 spoons of tapioca flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 spoon garlic powder
Sauce ingredients
3 spoons of chili sauce
1 spoon of tomato sauce
2 cloves of garlic
Cooking Steps
Preparation of Tempeh Sticks
In preparation for making tempeh sticks, the first step I took was to cut the tempeh thinly lengthwise.
Then, cut the corn, according to your taste.
Peel the carrots, then cut them into small lengths. Corn and carrots are complementary ingredients for these sticks so you can replace whatever other types of vegetables you need.
Steam tempeh, corn and carrots in a steamer pan, steam for approximately 15 minutes.
Once cooked, remove the tempeh then mash it with a pestle.
Puree as finely as possible using a or food chopper.
Add tapioca flour, then also add ground pepper.
Add garlic powder and salt, stir until evenly mixed.
Add mashroom pepper, knead with your hands until all ingredients are combined and easy to shape
During this process, if the dough is still hard, you can add a little more water. So make sure the dough is good and not sticky to your hands.
If it is easy to shape, then shape the dough using your hands into a flat round like meat.
Once finished, bake it over low heat on a Teflon pan with a little butter.
Bake until golden brown, then add sweet soy sauce on top.
Stick Tempeh Sauce Preparation
Cut the onion and garlic according to your taste.
Then add enough margarine in the pan, add garlic.
Then add the onions, cook until brownish yellow.
Then add the two sauces, namely spicy sauce and tomato sauce.
Stir both and cook for a minute adding a tip of a spoonful of salt.
After that, stir evenly and the sauce is ready to use.
Serving Suggestions
The tempeh sticks are ready to be applied with the sauce, arrange them on a plate then drizzle with the stick suas you made earlier, making sure to sprinkle evenly over the sticks. Well, the interesting thing here is to combine it with carrots and corn. Well, Tara!, your vegan tempeh sticks are ready to be enjoyed.
Even though this stick looks simple, it is enough to replace you enjoying sticks as a vegan. I'm sure there are many menus from plants that can be made from sticks, but tempeh is one of the many that has lots of benefits and good vitamins. Therefore, I am very confident in making this recipe and sharing it with all of you.
Now the taste is very delicious, delicious, chewy and textured, it combines perfectly with the sauce which is sweet, salty and savory and a little more spicy. However, if you don't want a spicy taste, you can add chili sauce.
