A Warm Greeting to All My Dear Friends!🌺🌺
Wishing you all a very good day! How have you been? These days, my schedule has been a bit more relaxed, thanks to my child's school holidays. So today, I’m here with a brand-new recipe to share with all of you. This is a treat I prepared especially for my loved ones and friends. It's truly a type of delightful snack. While most people prepare this using rice flour, today I decided to use finger millet flour (kurakkan) to create this recipe. The highlight of this dish is its nutritional value, as finger millet flour adds a healthy twist to the recipe. Let’s dive into how you can prepare this at home! Stay tuned for the step-by-step preparation. 😊🌺
Materials Used.
finger millet flour 200g.
1 Cup of Grated coconut.
Sugar 150g.
1/2 teaspoon of Salt.
About 3 well crushed cardamom seeds.
1 Cup of hot water.
1/2 cup of water.
Method of making....
Now, to prepare the mixture Take finger millet flour and add grated coconut along with 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix these ingredients well. Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead the mixture until small lumps form.
Next, take a steamer and place a banana leaf on its top tray. Spread the prepared mixture evenly over the banana leaf. Steam it for about 20 minutes. Once done, carefully remove it from the steamer.
Next, to prepare the sugar caramel Place a pan on the stove and let it heat slightly. Add about 3 tablespoons of sugar to the pan and allow it to caramelize to a golden-brown color. Gradually pour in a little hot water and stir well to dissolve the caramel completely. Then, add the remaining sugar and a small amount of cardamom powder to the mixture. Stir continuously until the ingredients are well combined. When the caramel mixture starts bubbling, reduce the heat to prevent it from boiling over.
Next, add the prepared finger millet flour mixture to the sugar syrup on low heat and mix thoroughly. Once everything is well combined and reaches a smooth consistency, remove it from the stove.
Next, quickly prepare a tray by lightly greasing it with a small amount of coconut oil. Pour the prepared mixture onto the tray and spread it evenly into a thin layer. Once leveled, cut it into pieces and allow it to set for about 30 minutes. This will help the pieces to harden and hold their shape.
Now, the delicious and perfectly prepared sweet treat is ready to be enjoyed with a warm cup of tea or coffee. So, give this recipe a try and experience the unique taste for yourself. I'm sure you'll notice the difference! With that, I’ll take my leave for today. Wishing you all a wonderful day!
