Wishing you all a wonderful day, dear friends! It's been a while since I had the chance to connect with you here. The reason for my absence was that I had to travel to the city to take care of my mother, who was unwell. As a result, I couldn’t share new recipes on this platform.
However, today I’m finally back home, and I’m excited to bring you a delicious recipe! This is a delightful Sri Lankan treat that pairs perfectly with tea. It's a sweet made by combining coconut sugar caramel with roasted flour. Let's dive in and see how this is prepared, step by step.
Materials Used.
150g of wet rice flour.
1 cup of hot water.
1 cup of coconut milk.
1/2 teaspoon of Cumin.
Grated Coconut 250g.
Sugar 150g.
A little salt to taste.
Coconut oil for frying.
The cooking process as follows.
Now, let's prepare this delicious treat! Start by placing a pan on the stove over medium heat and allow it to heat slightly. Once the pan is ready, add a portion of the sugar and let it melt. Allow it to caramelize, stirring occasionally to ensure even melting. Once the sugar has fully caramelized to a golden brown, carefully add a small amount of hot water. Be cautious, as it may splatter. Stir the mixture thoroughly until the caramel blends smoothly with the water. Next, add the remaining sugar to the pan and continue stirring while allowing it to caramelize further.
Next, add the grated coconut, Cumin, and a pinch of salt to the caramel mixture. Stir everything thoroughly until well combined, ensuring the coconut mixture is evenly coated with the caramel. Once mixed, set the prepared coconut mixture aside to cool.
Next, we will prepare a A thin liquid. batter using rice flour. Take a cup and add the rice flour into it. To this, add a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of sugar. Mix everything thoroughly while gradually adding water to achieve a slightly thick batter consistency. Ensure the batter is smooth and well-combined.
Next, take the prepared coconut mixture and shape it into small balls.
Next, take a pan and add some coconut oil, placing it on the stove to heat until it becomes hot. Meanwhile, coat the coconut mixture balls in the prepared rice flour batter, ensuring they are fully covered. Carefully place the coated balls into the hot oil and fry them until they turn a golden-brown color.
Now is the perfect time to enjoy this delightful treat with a warm cup of tea. It’s a snack you can share not only with your family but also with guests, making it an excellent choice for any occasion. Most importantly, it doesn’t take much time to prepare. So, why not give this recipe a try? That’s it for today! Wishing you all a wonderful day.
Hmm this looks tasty, I think I've eaten something similar to this but wasn't with rice flour. Really nice presentation too 👍
Thank you! 😊 You should definitely give this version a try; the rice flour adds a unique texture. Glad you liked the presentation too!
