Wishing all my dear friends a wonderful day! How are you all doing? Today, I’m excited to share with you how to make a nutritious winged bean malluma. Winged beans, known locally as dambala, are a beloved and nutrient-packed addition to Sri Lankan cuisine. Rich in protein, vitamins, and essential minerals, this dish preserves the natural flavor and nutritional benefits of these unique beans through light cooking. This malluma is an excellent vegetarian source of protein, making it ideal for those looking to add healthy and tasty vegetables to their meals. Let’s dive into how to make this flavorful stir-fry!
Materials Used.
Washed and clean winged Bean 100g.
1/2 cup of Grated Coconut.
1/2 Teaspoon of Mustard seed.
1/3 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
1/2 Teaspoon of pepper powder.
Salt as needed.
2 cloves of crushed garlic.
Chopped curry leaves.
1 pcs Pandan.
A little chopped onion.
Some chopped bell pepper.
2 Tablespoon of coconut oil.
The cooking process as follows.
Now, let’s get ready to prepare this delicious winged bean stir-fry! First, take the winged beans and slice them thinly.
Next, take a cooking pan and place it on the stove. Add about two tablespoons of coconut oil. Once the oil is hot, add a few mustard seeds and let them sizzle. Then, add chopped garlic, onions, pandan leaves, and curry leaves. Stir-fry for about a minute, mixing everything together well.
Next, add the bell pepper pieces to the pan. Then, season with salt, turmeric powder, and black pepper powder. Mix everything well, ensuring the spices coat the ingredients evenly.
Next, add the chopped winged beans and grated coconut to the pan. Stir everything well to combine. Allow it to cook on low heat for about 3 minutes, letting the flavors blend together. Once done, remove from the heat and set aside.
Now, the winged bean stir-fry is ready to be enjoyed as a perfect side dish with rice or as a nutritious meal on its own. Not only is it delicious, but it also offers wonderful health benefits. I hope you’ll give this recipe a try and enjoy its flavors and nourishment. So, with that, I’ll say goodbye for today. Wishing you a wonderful day!
