How to make delicious and spicy tempeh snacks

As Indonesians, we are never free from snacks, any snack that makes us a little full before eating a heavy meal, today I will make a snack from tempeh, tempeh in my place is very abundant, so I thought of making a healthy and slightly spicy snack with the basic ingredient of 1 tempeh board, because it so happens that I am at home with only my daughter, so it is enough to only use 1 tempeh board.

I used to make tempeh sticks without any filling, but this time I will make a snack from tempeh with a filling of red chilies, cayenne peppers, and sauteed onions. It does taste a little spicy, but I really like spicy things.

I found this tempeh snack recipe at a fried food stall next to my house, I bought the fried food there, there are many kinds of fried food made from tempeh sold there, there are fried tempeh with flour, medoan tempeh, tempeh sticks, and this chili-filled tempeh, I don't know what it's called, we usually call it a firecracker-filled tempeh snack, so today I'm interested in making this firecracker-filled tempeh snack at home, I don't use that many ingredients, I only use tempeh, chili, shallots, garlic, wheat flour and cornstarch.


Materials used

1 tempeh block
50 grams of wheat flour
100 grams of breadcrumbs
2 large red chilies
6 cayenne peppers
5 cloves of shallots
1 clove of garlic
A pinch of salt and mushroom stock


Manufacturing Procedure



First


Cut the tempeh into slightly thick and large pieces, then make a cut in the middle of the tempeh to put the filling in later,Then set the tempeh aside first.

Puree the spices using a blender until they are completely smooth, then sauté with a little oil until the spices are cooked,and while adding salt and mushroom stock, cook until dry.

Third


Once the spices are cooked, take a little at a time and put it into the sliced tempeh filling, then coat it with the flour mixture that has been mixed with water.

Fourth


Next, coat it in breadcrumbs, and then fry it in hot oil, until the tempeh is golden yellow, then remove and drain.

RESULTS

The chili-filled tempeh snack is ready and can be eaten immediately while it is warm. The taste is exactly the same as the one sold next to my house. It is crispy on the outside and spicy on the inside. When dipped in your favorite sauce, it is even tastier, hehe.

Well, if you have tempeh at home and are bored of cooking it the same way, you might as well make this snack, I highly recommend this tempeh, it tastes really good and crunchy, even my child likes to eat it even though it's a bit spicy, gosh I totally forgot to leave some tempeh that wasn't filled with chili for him, so he ended up eating this spicy tempeh because there was nothing else. Too bad for my child,
