My homemade tofu cireng

Cireng is a very popular food in Indonesia. Usually, Cireng is made from tapioca flour dough, and this time I invite you all to make Cireng from tofu dipped in a delicious spicy sauce, of course using tapioca flour too, which is combined with natural spices such as coriander, pepper, garlic, turmeric and other ingredients.

This tofu cireng was inspired by my sister, she often makes tofu cireng, so I was interested in trying to make it with my version, maybe my sister and I are a little different in the sauce, she adds grilled shrimp paste in her cireng sauce, while I don't, I don't like shrimp paste added to the cireng sauce, I think shrimp paste is better made into chili sauce, for raw vegetables. Now for those of you who like tofu, you can try my recipe, a very simple but very delicious recipe, very suitable as a snack at home.



Tofu Cireng Ingredients

100 grams of tapioca flour
2 sticks of tofu
Pepper powder
Turmeric powder
Coriander powder
Garlic powder
Pepper powder (1/2 tsp each)
Salt 1/2 tsp


Ingredients for the Cireng sauce

12 cayenne peppers
1 tbsp tamarind
2 tbsp palm sugar
1/2 tsp salt


Manufacturing procedure



First


Cut the tofu according to taste, I cut it into small squares, not too thin and not too thick, after everything was cut I washed it clean, then I prepared the flour dough ingredients,just mix it with the ingredients that I have written above, namely garlic powder, coriander pulp, pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt, 1/2 teaspoon each or you can just adjust it according to your taste.

Third


Put the tofu into the tapioca flour mixture, press it a little so that the spices are absorbed into the tofu. Next, fry the tofu until it is golden yellow.

Fourth


Next we will make the cireng sauce, first grind the cayenne pepper with salt, then add the palm sugar, then add the tamarind water.
grind until it becomes a delicious sauce.

My homemade tofu cireng is ready, and can be eaten with my beloved family, the taste of the cireng is just right, the saltiness is just right, I also like the level of doneness like this, not too dry, dipped in very spicy and sweet seasoning like this, adds to the deliciousness, with one bite it will make us addicted to trying it again and again.

Anyway, if you have tofu at home, instead of making it into other snacks, it's better to just make it like this, very delicious tofu cireng with sweet and spicy sauce, oh yeah, usually I don't like tofu, but I don't know why if I make a snack like this I really like it, but if you don't like spicy food, don't add too much chili, just add more palm sugar to make it sweeter.
