Happy weekend hivers and vegan family 🥰💕. I hope you are all doing great, enjoying the weekend.
Today’s recipe from my kitchen for lunch to you friends is a steamed vegetable sauce of carrot 🥕, red onions 🧅 and roasted sesame that is full of nutrients for good health. How more nourishing we can prepare our foods by mostly steaming them.
Steaming our foods most times especially vegetables 🥗 than frying them is the best way we can get more nutrients and vitamins from them due to how steaming leaves the foods moist and tender which is healthier than always frying our foods which adds fats.
Although many of us may love 💕 fried foods but this in turn leaves us with lots of calories and saturated fats especially when we are not using the best vegetable or vegan seeds oils , making us consume unhealthy recipes.
Here I share the step by step for preparing this recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
1 large carrot
1 large red onion
1 tablespoon of roasted sesame
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of curry powder
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of thyme herb
1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder.
STEPS FOR PREPARATION:
Step 1.
I will start by cleaning and washing the carrot as above.
Step 2.
Will then cut and further slash them to enable me cut it into strips .
As here above.
Step 3.
The onions I will clean, wash and slice it in rounds.
As here above.
Step 4.
The base ingredients of this recipe is the carrot and the onions.
Step 5.
Once the ingredients are ready, I will go on to make the sauce by setting the pan on the cooker . Adding water 💦 and salt to it.
Step 6.
Once the water boils, I will add the carrot and cover to steam on.as above.
And in a minute will add the onions , stir both together and cover to steam for another minute.
As here above.
Step 7.
And here will add all the spices one after the other.Black pepper, curry, red chili and thyme.
And will stir thoroughly to incorporate the spices. Adding the roasted sesame seeds.
Cover to steam for 5 seconds, set it down and serve.
My love for plant 🌱 based foods is making me try recipes in the best new ways I could and this very steamed sauce is one I love 💕. I feel it’s healthier and more nourishing than when its a fried sauce.
We can enjoy the sauce alone as light lunch if we are not too hungry because it was as filling as that light lunch many enjoys when they are not really hungry. Hope you enjoyed friends
Or this steamed sauce could also be served with any choice of food to make it a more heavy lunch 🥙 or dinner 🥘. Here above I have served the sauce with some pasta 🍝as lunch. Although it looks heavy which could be for two servings.
This is one vegan, savory, spicy sauce you will love 💕 as its put together without any frying process nor added oil. Its as healthy as that nourishment we all desire.
