Let's make a delicious lentil mellum that goes wonderfully with white rice.

How are you, Good evening to all my dear friends. First of all, I would like to wish that today is a very good/beautiful day for you.It's been a very busy few days. That's why I couldn't visit my dear friends and couldn't bring a delicious recipe. I apologize for that. So today I have brought you a way to prepare a dish that we all love to eat in a different way. It is lentil mallum. I also tried this for the first time. Because of the taste of malluma, I think this really brings a different taste and flavor that I like. So, let's see how to make it.

Ingredients;

  • 250g of lentils
  • Half cup of grated coconut
  • One and half tablespoons of oil
  • 90ml of water
  • A full teaspoon of salt powder
  • Half teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • Half teaspoon of pepper powder
  • Half teaspoon of mustard powder
  • Three cloves of garlic
  • A pod of green chilli
  • A chopped Half onion
  • A few curry leaves
  • A piece of pandan leaves
  • A piece of cinnamon

The method of making;

Add the washed and cleaned lentils to a pot.

Now add water and add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and half a teaspoon of salt powder to it and stir it and let it boil in normal flame.Now add water and add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and half a teaspoon of salt powder to it and stir it and let it boil in normal flame.

Do not boil the lentils until they are very well dissolved.

Now let's make the malluma. Add garlic and green chillies and grind or chop them.

Now add the grated coconut and grind it.

Then add remaining salt powder with turmeric powder and mustard powder.

Grind well.

Now put a pot on the stove and add oil to it. When the oil heats up, add the chopped onions.

Saute the salt for a minute on low flame and add the curry leaves and Pandan leaves.

Add cinnamon and mix well.

Add the ground coconut mixture.

Now add the coconut mixture and stir fry for about two minutes on low flame.

At the end, add the boiled lentils and stir well and remove from the heat.

This lentil mellum goes really well with white rice. This makes it so delicious that we all eat lentils. But the special taste of this is that when it is combined with coconut mixture, it gives a strange taste that makes you want to eat it and makes you feel hungry.

Lentils are definitely added to the main meal at our house. I made this for the first time. I really liked this a lot and enjoyed the taste. Because it brings a different taste to the food that is prepared in the same way every day.
