Hello Vegan Lovers, today it's been raining since morning, although the rainfall is only drizzle but the frequency is long so the air becomes cold until the afternoon. when the weather is cold like this it seems like eating a warm snack will help the body to withstand the cold air. A savory snack with a spicy taste seems to be delicious to accompany it at work or while relaxing. I will make a snack made from tofu.
today I will share a spicy and savory snack recipe, the snack that I will share is made from white tofu. I use white tofu because it has a soft texture that makes it easier to grind and blend with the spices.
The ingredients that I use to make tofu snacks are :
10 standard size white tofu
5 tablespoons of wheat flour
5 tablespoons of starch
3 tablespoons breadcrumbs flour
300 mL cooking oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 candlenut
1 onion
2 garlic
1 turmeric segment
1/2 teaspoon candlenut
1 pack pepper powder
50 mL water
for the seasoning, I use natural spices to strengthen the tofu taste, tofu has a bland taste.
steps to make tofu snacks
1.puree the tofu, I use a tablespoon to grind the tofu.
2.after the tofu is smooth, add the flour into the tofu, stir until combined.
3.add the starch in the tofu mixture, stir until combined.
4.it's time to process the spices, peel the skin of the onion, garlic and turmeric, then wash all the ingredients.
5.puree coriander, onion, garlic, candlenut, turmeric and salt,we have to grind the salt so that there are no coarse grains that will affect the taste of the dough. I still use a mortar and a wooden pestle (I think the seasoning tastes better).
6.it's time to put the flour and spices together, mix all the ingredients and stir until smooth, so that the taste of the dough is the same.
7.add water to the dough, add little by little so that the dough is not too runny, if we put a lot of water into the dough, we can add the flour.
8.add pepper to the dough, adjust it to the spicy taste we like.
9.mix all the dough until it forms, I will make it round.
10.mix the tofu dough that has been shaped round with the breadcrumbs.
11.heat the oil.
12.enter the tofu dough that has been wrapped in breadcrumbs into the hot cooking oil, fry over medium heat.
13.after the tofu is browned, remove and serve while warm.I added cayenne pepper to the tofu snack. If you like, you can eat it with additional chili sauce.
I think I'll make tomato juice to balance the oil in the tofu balls.
Wash the tomatoes, add ice water and blend until smooth.
I also added a slice of sunkist orange in the tomato juice to amplify the fresh taste.
woouw we can see the tofu is perfectly cooked, soft inside and dry on the outside, the taste of the spices makes the tofu smell fragrant and appetizing.
