Although I do not consider myself a philatelist, since my adolescence I always liked to collect and sort some postal stamps. Until the 80s, I could buy them with some ease in certain places in Havana, Cuba.
Nowadays that dream is no longer possible, and many philately enthusiasts can enjoy what they were able to keep.
Nowadays, many opt for electronic stamps, and when some paper stamps appear, they are to be attached to certain legal documents.
In them, the history of the countries of the world is treasured in graphic form, where illustrious figures, monuments, stages of technological development, means of transport, flora, fauna, ecosystems, etc. can appear.
February. A month that embraces a special date, the Valentine's Day.Everything that man created, has tried to be reflected in this fantastic miniature world that are the stamps; and that is the proposal of @mipiano for
Today I will give my contribution, and I want to share with you my collection of stamps related to the animal world, specifically to birds and representatives of aquatic life.
Birds:
As you can see, these postage stamps were manufactured in the former Soviet Union, between the 1960s and 1975s. They are vintage objects that for their age are quite well preserved.
They show the most representative birds of the country, among them several types of birds of prey, flamingos, seagulls, ducks, ibis, those protagonists of children's tales and fantastic traditions, for being the carriers of newborns to the chosen families.
Life Aquatic:
Here we have species that live both in the marine environment and in freshwater reservoirs, such as the distinguished sturgeon fish, a great living fossil, from which its roe, known as Caviar, is extracted. A gourmet delicacy that is very expensive, depending on the species and the place where this fish is caught, as is the case of Beluga sturgeon.
In salt water we have among the best known the dolphin and whale. Cetaceans, aquatic mammals that arouse a general interest among people.
The sturgeon fish.
From the issue in 1840 of the Penny Black, the first postage stamp issued in the UK and circulated around the world, to the present day, many carry in their memory the sweetest memories. From great love stories to the most bitter news.
In this era of digital communication where the binary bases of “0” and “1” are constant, the disuse of our hands to write with pen or pencil on paper, makes us lose little by little the ability for the strokes.
It fills me with satisfaction to keep at home, those envelopes aged by time, witnesses of moments of exchange of letters with my parents, friendships, and shared loves; where thanks to a postage stamp and its value, letters on paper could sail the seas of the world.
I hope you liked my collection. Thank you for reading.

Infinite greetings!
My father was a philatelist, and he had a collection of several thousand stamps. When my sister got married and moved out of our family home, she took the stamps with her (I'm not sure why she thought that she deserved them more than me 😃). Anyway, I doubt I would continue the family tradition. 🙂
Despite not being a philatelist, you have a nice collection of stamps! You should check out some of those that you have as they could be very valuable!

How nice to know that your dad was a philatelist, it really is a hobby that opens you to know the history of the world through small designs on paper.
I am not a philatelist, but as a child I had that passion that kissed my soul, being able to keep them until today. Seeing them today takes me back to the years of my childhood. More than the real value as a vintage object I appreciate the emotional value it causes in me. Greetings from Havana

How beautiful the stamps are and what stories there are behind them, you don't see any around here anymore, but now I'm wishing to have even one of birds because I love birds and your stamps are too beautiful 😍
I hope someday the fashion of using stamps on cards and others will return ❤️
Hi. I'm glad you liked seeing my stamps, with those species of birds and aquatic animals that give the viewer's eyes a creative design work, colors that attract and a story to tell.
I miss that time when paper charts plied our seas. May it one day become more palpable, in the same way as the current use of vinyl music records. Thanks for commenting.
How interesting what you share about your fondness for postage stamps, even though you don't consider yourself a philatelist as such.
It is true that those little treasures capture so much of the countries history and culture.
Your collection focusing on birds and aquatic life is fascinating, each stamp surely tells its own story.

Thank you for supporting the post. Although currently the stamps are sold on the market, for me to keep them and see part of the history of that country, and in this case a representation of its birds and aquatic life, is to have before my eyes a greater value that touches the emotions.
