The Great Glassware collection, thanks to Mum!

Helloooo there everyone around the world, keeping and collecting those trash and treasures! 😃 After all, one man's trash, is another women's treasure!

This week, I'd like to welcome you to the The Great, Gigantic Glassware Collection, once again thanks to Mum!

These are Mum's authentic Vintage glasses, mostly coming out of the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's. which I have now managed to collect, until I can get them all sold.🙄

Some were gifts, such as the teak Sake drinks platter, but I guess that Mum "collected' the rest over the years.🤣

The top photos are the latest stash that I cleaned out of the bar cabinet in January- which we used more when we were teenagers than Mum and Dad did when they were adults....😆🤣😂😅

The bottom series are gorgeous glasses that Mum and dad were given as wedding pressies back in 1960. I cleaned them out of another cupboard about 10 years or so ago and as you will see, these gorgeous and rare beauties have never been used.

Next week I'll show you what was left in the Bar cabinet, though most of it you wouldn't want to drink now! 🤢☠️

Oh, your Great Glassware collection is a ticket to the past hahaha, some cool vintage ones I saw for the last time in the old house of my maternal grandmother. Like those sets where the glasses come in different colours or the yellow with the lines. Cool 😎

Yeah I know it was like a walk through time- in glassware.

How gorgeous are the coloured glasses they they got for their wedding in 1960!

Wowsers that is some collection. My parents had loads of glass sets over the years, but there were virtually always some missing which had been broken, usually by one of us clumsy children!

Yeah there's certainly some in there and when you look at them all spread out like that, but then look at the photos of the cupboard that they all came out if your like how the fuck did they all fit in there...?!?!?!?

Obviously we never ever touched them...we were too busy sneaking the bottles of booze out and drinking straight from the bottles to worry about fancy glassware...I'm pretty sure that Aussies inherited their love of drinking genes from the Scots...

And infact, check out next Sunday's post in the HC community for you will see what else came out of that bar cabinet!

After all, one man's trash, is another women's treasure!

One women's trash is another man's treasure 😃

A great and large collection of your mother's glasses. It was certainly not a problem for you to host a large number of guests 🙂
Are the coats of arms on these 6 cups in the first two pictures the coats of arms of some Scottish families?
Now I remembered... I also have some old glasses, the same shape, but with pictures of cars. I have to look for them. That will be an interesting post…

Haaa yes and we did have a lot of house parties in the 80's, but the dads drank beer and the mothers drank West Coast Coolers (yummm) and not much else, so the glasses weren't even really needed then either!

Shame I didn't have them when I was a cocktail bartender for many years in restaurants...

But how gorgeous are those coloured glasses from their wedding in 1960!

Seriously gorgeous, never been used. Not once.

Yes that's right. the coat of arms for some Scottish clans.

Mum's dad was Scottish.

Even today sorting through her old jewelry box finding lots of old Scottish things- like broaches and stuff.

If you have vintage glasses with pictures of cars on them, I think that someone would pay a lot of money for them...I would love to see them too!

i will look for those car pic glass 🙂

Shame I didn't have them when I was a cocktail bartender for many years in restaurants...

I don't see that you have posted any cocktail recipes... with your many years of experience, you would probably have something to suggest and show?

Yes, you're right, I actually have not posted any recipes here and now you've got me thinking- it's been so long...BUT, they are all coming back to mind now.

I don't think I've got any photos of me WITH said cocktails, but I do have a couple of photos of me as a cocktail bartender back in the day..

I'll have to dig those up and do a nice tasty post for you shall I! 😃

Speaking ogwhich, make sure you look out for next Sunday post in the Collector community..I think that you will appreciate that!

Now I want a cocktail! 🤣

Now I want a cocktail!

Don't dig through old pictures, dozers and shaker in hand, some ice, alcohol and juice, phone in photo mode....and here's the post 🙂

make sure you look out for next Sunday post in the Collector community

I definitely will! 😀

Ok well unfortunately I don't have any of the 'tools' of the trade with me these days, but I ma going to the Melissa Etheridge concert tomorrow night with my best friend, so I think that you have just convinced me to have a couple of cocktails before hand!

(which will cost an arm and a leg here in Melbourne...)

Hmmm, food for thought! 🤔

It's now 1:20am, so I say, goodnight, see you tomorrow night! 😊

Good night and have a great time tomorrow at the concert😀

Wow, those are a loooot of glasses 🥴😃, now, on your past post you said that your mother didn't use the cups because she didn't like coffee nor tea but, what about these glasses, did she use them? 🤔
I love those with the fishes and the colored ones.
Great collection 👍🏻

Haaaaa I laugh not at you but at the thought of Mum using such 'Good' glasses....🤣...

Oh nooo, the 'good' glassware only got used on 'special' occasions, however, then it was too good for those special occasions, got pushed back into the back of the cupboard and forgotten about until I found it 40/50 years later...

Yeah I LOVE them too.

I LOVE the coloured ones from the 50/60's- their wedding pressies, but I also love the 'Brady Bunch' style brown jug and glass set.

It's either from the 70's or possibly even earlier like the 40/50's...not sure.

It was stashed away with the collection from the 50/60's, but looks more 70's, BUT like I said, could also be 40-50's...

I dearly LOVED the daisy set, and really wanted to keep them, but have no use so I sold them a couple of months ago with the fishy glasses.

Such a walk through time in glassware eh. So glad that you enjoyed it.

Check out next Sunday's post- it will be much more 'merrier..'🤣untitled.gif

Hahaha, oh, so "special" for the special days 🥴😂😂😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️ that was funny.

I can't believe that some of these glasses are 50, 60 o even 70 years old 😳, that's amazing 👍🏻.

Much more "merrier" 🤔🤭🤭🤭 ooook hahaha, fine 😉.
