this month's topic for the Hive Collectors community was tote bags, I was thinking I may have a few hanging around at home (like the pun?π ) but it turns out I have a more than a few. It took me a while to dig them all out, and when I did, I found a surprise tote bag that I was looking for for a long time!! More on that later. When @mipiano announced
First of all, Hive bags
. I've been to three fests. The first one was in Bangkok in 2019. It was still called Steemfest back them. As much as we dislike the name, it is what it was and to be honest, I can't see anyone organising a Steemfest now. You can buy a chain, but you can't buy the community π. My second HiveFest was in Amsterdam in 2022. @mipiano shared the tote bag from that year in her post, but I can't find mine anywhere. It's really weird as I keep all the HiveFest freebies. The even weirder thing is that I have no recollection of that bag at all.... Anyway moving onto my third HiveFest in Split this year, it's very representative of the the Croatian flag. Great design.
The next batch of tote bags are country based. Many people get confused when they see my username because it's pretty long. If you break it down it's Living-UK-Taiwan. That's me living in two countries, or used to. Of course I have tote bags from both countries. This one is probably my favourite tote bag of all of them. The Union Jack (that's what the British flag is called) is white, blue and red. Here, they've replaced the red with pink which I think adds a very nice dimension to it. Another reason I like this is because the bag is quite thick. Quite often tote bags are very flimsy and loses it shape when you have many small items inside.
I don't use this London bag much... I'm not sure why, to be honest. But I like the graphics a lot, very iconic.
Moving to Taiwan. This is called a Gaji bag and was first made by farmers and was very practical for every day use. In recent years it's made a comeback and become a kind of trendy nostalgic item. This bag is made of nylon and I use it to hold all my tote bags.
Everything Japanese are always so pretty as are these tote bags. I bought them on one of my many trips to Japan over the years.
I call these my His and Her bags. These were a gift from a fashion magazine that I used to buy every month. They're designed by young British fashion designers. I use them to hold small items like underwear and socks when I go travelling. One for him one for me.

I can't remember how I got these bags. I definitely wouldn't have bought them because, one I don't like advertising for stores, and two, well, they're not exactly pretty!! However, they're very good quality, bigger than normal and very sturdy. I hardly use them because they're quite heavy.
This one is from Boots, a UK national pharmacy chain. They sell a lot of beauty products as well hence the Gorgeous message.
And this one is from John Lewis, a quality high street department store.
Many years ago we used to order the Times newspaper every day, and we'd get tickets to some of the events they organise. This bag was a freebie from one of those events.
I call this my YouTube tote. A few years ago when I was building my YouTube channel, I was invited to do affiliate marketing with a Swedish bag company. In return for shilling their product, I got to choose up to Β£200 worth of their products. I choose a very nice backpack and this tote bag to make up the Β£200.
I couldn't complete my tote bag collection without something from my other collection, Little Twin Star. Sadly the handles broke some years ago and I had to cut them off.
Last and not the least, at the beginning of my post I mentioned I found a surprise tote bag.
These fold away reusable bags are very common nowadays. But when I bought this in Japan, over 20 years ago they weren't very common because the non plastic / bring your own bag concept wasn't a big thing back in those days. I've been using this bag for years and years for my daily shopping and it shows. The plastic clip on the outer bag is broken, and when it isn't, you can clip it onto a loop on the actual bag so you don't lose it. That's the black bit you see hanging in the middle, the loop is broken as well.
Anyway, I don't know from when, I noticed I couldn't find my bag. I searched everywhere but to no avail. Until today when I pulled out all these tote bags, I found my missing yellow shopping bag inside the John Lewis bag!!! What a lovely surprise and I'm so glad I did this tote bag collection post.
Oh my, what a beautiful tote bags collection is hanging around here π The Japanese ones give that artistic feeling, love them.
Little Twin Stars can be seen through the nylon bag :) and somehow I am not surprised the handles broke - I suppose you used it a lot π
So, the missing yellow bag was protected by that cute John Lewis penguin - which means that the penguin is now the mom of that yellow one hahaha. And look, my missing bag also appeared
Yeah!! The salt mine bag reappeared!!! I had to be hiding somewhere, it's not like you would lose it. Unlike my missing shopping bag, I thought I'd dropped it somewhere. So mama Penguin had been looking after it all this time!
I've got a few Hive and St--m bags plus various others that were give-aways. We just don't have to buy the cotton tote bags. I use the Hive ones for carrying music gear, so people do see them.
I've never used tote bags much, especially now, all I need when I go out is my phone and keys. I take the smallest handbag as possible.
You're on giving the hive bags good visibility π
Pretty aeshetic tote bag collection. I love the flowers pattern, also the Unian Jack, and London.
Here I often use tote bag when I go to 'picnic' to rice field π
For non canvas material (stronger material) I use it to go market π
The non canvas bags are great for groceries and the market, and like my yellow bag, I like that I can wash it after carrying meat and veg back.
I only have the purple. I think the one you don't use much is you are afraid of dirtying it.
Maybe, like the two Japanese ones, they're so pretty, I don't be want be to mess them up
Haha, in Singapore, there's a strange thing we say: "Double confirm"
Wow, that's a big collection! I've gathered a few of those too, especially from congresses, and they're also stashed in a bigger bag... I wonder If I would find some surprises inside too! :) !BEER
Come on! Please show us! It will be interesting to see your stash, especially a guy's one!!!
Will try to make time for a few shots, but no promises! :)) And really can't call it a stash, it's more like a "hum, this might come handy for some shopping, let me throw this here and I'll figure it out later".... and rinse and repeat! :)
you indeed has a lot of tote bags..
I liked using those kinds back when I was in HK and I even bought one to bring here in the Ph..

The collection has slowly grown over the years without me realising it
What a nice and varied collection, the Japanese are beautiful with that characteristic design of them and is that the Japanese have a gift for decoration hehe and the penguin my favorite because I like birds π
The Japanese ones are my favourite after the Union Jack. I see you're from Argentina, have you seen a lot of penguins?
Personally I have not seen penguins, but I do have a stuffed animal of a penguin from Madagascar π
I love totes bags too. It's really cute I really like it. Thank you for sharing this to us.

I love the japanese totebags πI am a collector of totebag myself and I try to buy one totebag from places/countries I've visited hehe. But one that really occupies my drawer is all those fast-food chain totebags. At one point I gave away like more than 50 Starbucks totebag to random people and my neighbors π€£
What the...!!!? Why do you have so many Starbucks tote bags!!!! Definitely worth a post if you've still got so many lying around
In Indo, we don't do plastic bags anymore. So whenever we order online and through delivery they always give us their totebags. I have all sized from their extra large to the bottle sized bags of Starbucks π€£
The tote bag collection is real hahah I donβt have many super cool ones but weβve got a lot of them for sure. Itβs a funny thing to think about, what did people of our parents generation collect like this? I canβt think of it yet.
Hopefully eventually Iβll get a hive fest bag one day :D
It is good that collectors eager to show off their wonders are finding treasures that were kept waiting to be found and brought back to life. Hahaha... and yes, βalmost everything Japaneseβ is pretty. I can't be that absolute. π
The penguin tote bag and little twin stars are my favourites.
Lovely collection and I've never heard of the Hive Collectors! Sounds like an awesome community that's right up my alley! Each bag has so much character! My favorites are the ones from Japan!
I found this post thanks to a post and mention from @macchiata
