Hace justo una semana les comentaba sobre mi colección de medias divertidas, así que esta semana corresponde hablarles sobre mi segunda gran colección: los washitapes. Seguro que ya te estarás preguntando ¿qué rayos es eso? pues bien, son simplemente cintas adhesivas decorativas, perfectas y necesarias para todas aquellas personas que amamos los materiales de papelería y que hacemos journaling, scrapbook o simplemente llevamos un Bullet Journal para organizarnos la existencia.
Mi obsesión por coleccionar washitapes comenzó hace más o menos unos dos años cuando comencé a ser un poco más constante con el Bullet Journal. Sin embargo, mi colección realmente comenzó a crecer rápidamente fue a duras penas el año pasado pues aquí en mi país este tipo de material de papelería no es muy fácil de encontrar por lo que a veces me veo en la necesidad de comprarlo en tiendas online y pagar el envío hasta Venezuela (sobretodo cuando quiero un washitape de un color o estampado muy específico).

Just a week ago I told you about my collection of funny socks, so this week it's time to tell you about my second big collection: the washitapes. Well, they are simply decorative adhesive tapes, perfect and necessary for all of us who love stationery and who do journaling, scrapbooking or simply carry a Bullet Journal to organize our existence.
My obsession with collecting washitapes began about two years ago when I started to be a little more consistent with the Bullet Journal. However, my collection really started to grow quickly last year because here in my country this kind of stationery is not very easy to find so sometimes I have to buy it in online stores and pay the shipping to Venezuela (especially when I want a washitapes of a very specific color or print).
El tema de los washitapes puede realmente convertirse en todo un Universo, pues existen muchos del color, estampado, grosor e incluso textura que tú desees. Esta pequeña colección que actualmente poseo la he dividido en diferentes categorías: estampados, estampados florales, unicolores y con brillitos. Recuerdo que el primer washitape que llegó a mis manos fue el de rayas naranja con blanco y lo cierto es que le tengo tanto aprecio que a veces evito usarlo porque no quiero terminarlo. De esta colección de estampados el más reciente que fue añadido es el de café, ¡aún no puedo creer que haya encontrado un washitape con estampado de tazas de café! apenas lo vi quedé enamorada.
Continuando con los estampados se encuentra este set de seis washis estilo vintage que vienen también en diferentes estampados y grosores. Mi favorito de este set es el de cuadros de mayor grosor porque de hecho la textura es como si fuese una tela, bastante paricular de hecho y por ello me gusta tanto. De este grupo de washitapes estampados hay uno en especial que le tengo mucho aprecio y lo adquirí este mes: el washitape de Mang. Verán, Mang es un personaje animado perteneciente al grupo de personajes de BT21 que fueron creados por los miembros del grupo musical surcoreano BTS. De estos personajes animados existe de todo, desde peluches, carteras, ropa e incluso material de papelería como stickers, bolígrafos, libretas. Sin embargo, nunca pensé que encontraría washitapes de los siete personajes de BT21 aquí en mi país. El primer que compré fue este de Mang porque es mi personaje favorito, pero tengo en mente adquirir los demás de cada personaje.
The subject of washitapes can really become a whole Universe, because there are many of the color, pattern, thickness and even texture that you want. I have divided this small collection that I currently own into different categories: patterned, floral prints, unicolor and with glitter. I remember that the first washitape I got my hands on was the orange and white striped one and the truth is that I like it so much that sometimes I avoid using it because I don't want to finish it. From this collection of prints the most recent one that was added is the coffee one, I still can't believe I found a washitape with a coffee cup print! As soon as I saw it I fell in love.
Continuing with the prints is this set of six vintage style washis that also come in different prints and thicknesses. My favorite of this set is the thicker checkered one because in fact the texture is like fabric, quite similar in fact and that's why I like it so much. From this group of patterned washitapes there is one in particular that I am very fond of and I purchased it this month: Mang's washitape. You see, Mang is an animated character belonging to the BT21 group of characters that were created by the members of the South Korean musical group BTS. Of these animated characters there is everything from plushies, wallets, clothes and even stationery such as stickers, pens, notebooks. However, I never thought I would find washitapes of the seven BT21 characters here in my country. The first one I bought was this one of Mang because he is my favorite character, but I have in mind to buy the others of each character.
Los washitapes con motivo floral son toda una preciosidad y le aportan una sutileza preciosa a las páginas que se pretenden decorar. El de girasoles también resultó ser un gran hallazgo inesperado y, aunque aún no lo he usado formalmente, estoy segura que quedaría bellísimo para hacer algo en el Bullet Journal.
En cuanto al grupo de washitapes unicolores, admito que esta colección debería de ser mucho más amplia. Mi intención realmente es tener de todos los colores y en diferentes tonalidades. El año pasado comencé adquiriendo este set de cinco que van desde el vinotinto al rosado, recuerdo que los compré específicamente porque la temática para mi Bullet Journal era del día de los enamorados, así que fue la excusa perfecta para añadir estos colores a la colección. A finales del año pasado compré el rojo delgado con la frase: "girls just wanna have sun", me pareció bastante particular así que ¿por qué no añadirlo a este grupo?
Por último, están los unicolores brillantes y tornasolados. Un día pasando por el centro de copiado me di cuenta de que en la vitrina de exhibición tenían una pequeña caja con cintas adhesivas decorativas de diferentes estampandos, cuando me acerqué a observalos más de cerca descubrí estos dos que me encantaron y el plus de estos es que el adhesivo no se despega en ningún momento, caso contrario a algunos de mis otros washis en los que realmente la pega es un poco deficiente.
The washitapes with floral motifs are so pretty and add a lovely subtlety to the pages they are intended to decorate. The sunflower one also turned out to be a great unexpected find and, although I haven't used it formally yet, I'm sure it would look gorgeous to make something in the Bullet Journal.
As for the group of unicolor washitapes, I admit that this collection should be much larger. My intention really is to have all colors and in different shades. Last year I started by purchasing this set of five ranging from vinotint to pink, I remember I bought them specifically because the theme for my Bullet Journa was Valentine's Day, so it was the perfect excuse to add these colors to the collection. At the end of last year I bought the skinny red one with the phrase: “girls just wanna have sun”, it seemed pretty unique so why not add it to this group?
Finally, there are the bright and iridescent unicolors. One day passing by the copy center I noticed that in the display case they had a small box with decorative adhesive tapes of different patterns, when I approached to observe them more closely I discovered these two that I loved and the plus of these is that the adhesive does not peel off at any time, contrary to some of my other washis in which the glue is really a little deficient.
