I remember listening to music on the big old radio at my grandpa's house every Sunday when we would have a family lunch... Instead of an antenna, it was catching a signal from a potato... 😃
Also, my father was using many of these portable radios when we were going fishing and he changed dozens of them... But, it's interesting that I can't remember that any was similar to some of these from your collection... It looks like radio manufacturers were very creative with different designs and shapes...
Thanks for sharing your collection! It looks amazing!
I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!
Can you explain to me how to use a potato as an antenna? RegardsHi @ph1102. A radio has always been that faithful friend that gave companionship to many families. Who went with us to outdoor activities, and just as with your father, even on his fishing trips. Good to know that you liked the post.
I have no idea what the idea was about the potato, but I saw that the cable that led to the antenna was plugged into the fresh potato... 😂

I saw the link about the potato. The only explanation I can see is that the moisture in the spherical potato acts as a conductor. A rounded mass that, because of its shape, is better than not putting anything on the end of the cable. Thanks
I'm glad you liked the post.
Can you explain the detail of using a potato as an antenna? RegardsHi @ph1102. A radio was always that faithful friend that gave us company, both in many homes, outdoor activities, and as in the case of your father even on his fishing trips.
