Hi @storiesoferne, definitely the Spanish influence is present in this great festival, in fact some elements can be seen in Venezuela as the floats representing the indigenous peoples and their characteristic costumes; certainly a very colorful festival and with great influx of people.

The Spanish cultural impact is still present in your country and a great part of the American continent.

Indeed, there's no doubt that Venezuela, the Philippines, and other countries that were under Spanish rule inherited their cultural influences despite being independent nations today.
