RE: I got punched in the face….back into uncertainty…

in Cross Culture • 3 years ago

Whouhooooo I'm amazing 😄, watched the whole thing lol aaaand guess what, you are talking about my life here 😂 . Things change weekly now and uncertainty is my new bff. Funny thing, I was just trying to figure out myself on how to run my own business but are facing similar issues. It would cost me a lot plus the insane bureaucracy. I wouldn't mind all that but the business would have to start off right away in order to pay my bills. With a lingering new lockdown due to spiking COV numbers that is a risk I can't take. So right now I just try to get any kind of job that is funding my basics but still leaves room for myself. Even that is not easy these days, who would have known 😅 .

Aight, going to reply on your other comment now...see you there lol 😄

You are so amazing, thank you!

You can’t do freelance? I’m going to essentially keep being freelance but with a lot more red tape just for the visa. I’m guessing you don’t need a visa right?

What kind of company if you don’t mind me asking?

Anyways. Awesome! So awesome!

You can’t do freelance?

Don't know to be honest. I have no clue about Freelancing and what that means. I always thought I have nothing to offer in that field.

I’m guessing you don’t need a visa right?

Nope, not for the EU.

What kind of company

Lol, something with dogs or helping the elderly.

But without a buffer in hand, that's just impossible, regardless of the bureaucracy. Right now I feel a bit like a ping pong ball of life 😂. I actually have a lot to give, but as my father says, we are a "society of success", not a "performance society". Whoever performs a lot is not automatically successful and whoever is successful does not always have to perform a lot. Sometimes a big butt is enough to be successful ;).

Its not always fair but I feel like there are enough opportunities out there if you really MAKE them. Which is not easy!!!

I’m still figuring it out.

I don’t think you need a company to do anything like that. It may be easier to monetize with a company but if you experiment and put yourself out there you might find a way. Even just putting up a sign on a bulletin board or something like that. Freelance just means you don’t have a company or work for a company. It’s what I do except it doesn’t provide a visa so I need another way

I’m rooting for you!!

We have like a catalogue of professions that are allowed to call themselves freelancer in Germany. You can be self employed but still not considered a freelancer depending on what you plan to do.

But as you said, there are opportunities and probably just like you I'm trying to figure them out. And even though I may loose faith in actually being able to do what I love when staying where I'm at, paying the bills is priority as of now. So right now even cleaning in a hospital becomes an option to make ends meet 😅.

I am def not the typical career person, rather I was flowing with life as it came, but in a world of specializations, free spirits are a real commodity.

I think people who have an open eye and are flexible are worth more than the tunnel vision of a high degree of specialization. Not in every case of course, but in many cases thinking outside the box is an advantage in my opinion. But foresight and free spirit always go hand in hand with an open opinion, and not everyone likes that.

I really appreciate the restrictions that Japan has put on me. 7 years ago, the first time I left, I couldn’t handle them but the second time around they’ve helped push me to discover just how powerful I am and just how close my dreams really are.

I’m the same as you. I want to just flow. I’m SURE there is a way to get paid for that, and paid well enough so that you don’t have to think about the money. It can sure be a journey to find it, that's all.

You rock

You rock 😄 ! I appreciate your words and support.

So far I made it through life lol and I take it as it comes I guess. I just think that it's a little paradox. The so called "free world" is packed with rules and regulations. How free is the "free world" really? I don't mind certain rules and regulations when connected to common sense, ethics and moral, but human kind runs on different priorities mostly.

Oh well, "Schlimmer geht immer" - "It could always be worse" is my guiding principle 😂 .
