Honestly, white people speaking anything else aside English is shocking to me. Japanese just makes it funny as well cos I imagine the tonations selling you out.

Japanese actually doesn’t really have tones. It does but they don’t affect the meaning much at all, just like intonation almost. Mandarin has 4 tones. Cantonese has 6-9 which is one of the few reasons I never became fully conversational. 😑
