HELLO amazing friends, it feels pretty good to be back to the blog after a long break, you know i have so become one with hive since i made it a commitment to not skip a day, but guesd what, i jave skipped one whole week and before that i was just struggling to keep up the pace te reason being that a lot has really bit into my time, which made me so uncomfortable that i decided to hold up for a sec.
Last month i made a journey to the eastern part of Nigeria, which comprises of the igbo's, if you must know Nigeria is a very vast country or lets say separate small state back then before the white missionaries arrived the shores of Africa, all these small state were then merge to become regions and together amalgamated to become a country in 1914, basically NIgeria is know for its multi-ethnicity, differs cultures, traditions, languages, tribes etc... Which predominantly are the Igbos, (Eastern Region) Yoruba(Western Region) and The Hausa/Fulani ( northern Region) these also represent the three major languages largely spoken across the country, Also these regions are subdivided into states .
I Journey to one of the Eastern State In Nigeria, which happens to be one of the Igbos speaking state precisely Enugu for a 1-Year Compulsory National service, after a 21-Day in camp orientation course we were now disbursed to complete the remaining months of the 1-year national assignment in different part of the state.
I was posted to the City-centre, which was a lot better, cause i needed good access to living condition, water, electricity, access to mobile network and overall good standard of living.
When i got to the city i noticed, its very serene, the housing structures here are standard, good roads, Constant power supply just like i wanted, good and friendly neigbhorhood, well as a matter of fact i'm from one of the southern state, i could understand not too well of the igbo language, so when i arrived here, what i observed first was that Every one here speaks igbo, so i'm like do i look igbo, or they just don't realise i'm a visitor here.
So what i do was since i could understand
Little of the language, i just go with the flow and use my intincts to get what they are saying, well igbo language to me is one of the easiest language to learn in Nigeria, especially because they mostly interchangeably make use of some English terms or words that would give you a clue to what they are saying.
Most of the time i've been an explorer, an adventurer i love to travel, go places, discover new lands, live among people of different cultures, traditions and a different way of life, cause deep down i want to always learn something new, the ways of the people, how they feel, live, relate and trying to understand and see life from their own perspectives, trying to fit in and feel what it means to be in their shoes.
Just few days in the east, I'm beginning to love their ways of life, the new environment, the breath of fresh air, fresh smell of the atmosphere, in love it, the people here have fruits in abundance especially mangoes, cherry, cucumber, star fruits etc...these has also made me try to adapt to their new ways of live, living among these new people is really so cool.
As an explorer i hope to learn more, explore more engage with the people and interact with them and learn their norms cultures and traditions and hopeully impact positively in my Environment.
