RE: From Humble Procession to World-Class Festival

Street parade where all can join together celebrating in spectacular style, taking religious expression of thanks, gratitude once a year brings everyone together for good reason.

Only on-going large scale festival we have is in the Cape Minstrel Festival

The festival tradition of Cape Town likely began with the city's enslaved people. During the early 1800s, they were given only one day off of work each year—January 2. To celebrate, the enslaved people dressed in their showiest clothes and played music to entertain themselves.

This is also well attended, very popular, today used to keep children actively off the streets with bad elements. Parents learn skills, or teach younger generation skills learned. A way of bringing people together over all walks of life unlike our history of the past.

Hello @joanstewart. Absolutely, cultural events like the Sinulog Festival is not only an annual public spectacle to enjoy but also, as you said, an effective means of congregating people having shared beliefs. And in the spirit of this spiritual celebration, we eventually realize that all of us, despite our distinctive racial origins, are one huge family called humanity.

Thank you for introducing us to the Cape Town Minstrel Festival. Likewise, it's simply interesting to know that music is also a universal adhesive that unites all of us as one community. As a result, generational growth among parents and their children become more sustainable. Have an awesome one! 😊

It would be wonderful if people were able to discard differences, be accepting of each other, don't have to join in, simply be one with all. Music normally is the common denominator!
